The amazing thing about Konosuba is how none of the main characters would ever work in other anime. Cautious hero tried to make their own version of Aqua, and it didn't work at all. Her mindless rambling and bitchiness doesn't work without a cynical foil like Kazuma because none of main four characters in Konosuba are funny without each other. It's their interactions which make the show so enjoyable. I think my biggest complaint with the dub(the dub was fantastic otherwise) is how Arnie Pantoja makes Kazuma seem more sympathetically sarcastic and less of the asshole otaku he actually is. If Kazuma were some limp dick overpowered regular Isekai protagonist who was being dragged down by his party of useless women, the show wouldn't work at all. It's this dynamic where all of the characters are an equal level of useless or shitty which makes all of their misfortunes hilarious, rather than sympathetic. This becomes especially obvious with their interactions with the more "normal" side characters and even the devil king's army. When they fought the dullahan it didn't feel like an important battle to the death, it felt like Kazuma and his party's shittiness just bullied him into submission and it was hilarious. Even the villains are more sympathetic than the main cast and it just reinforces the idea that Konosuba isn't about heroes, it's about four weirdos bumbling around and accidentally doing heroic shit sometimes and the show does a really good job of keeping that tone throughout. Overall Konosuba is easily in my top five and it's the only comedy anime I've ever watched which is still just as funny the second or third time around.

In the sense of not being the help expected for the Protagonist (even though Rista is arguably more helpfull). But they fill completely different Roles Rista is often supposed to be the straight person out of the Duo, rather than the funny person unlike Aqua. Rista often has to react to Seiyas overly Cautioness with her more "normal" views. In Konosuba Kazuma often fills this role in the Party. Also the joke that Rista is useless, is just because of how OP Seiya is.

The Cynical Ghost As a person who thinks the sub is god-tier, the dub really isn't all that bad. Cristina Vee and Faye Mata as Darkness and Aqua are on-par with the Japanese VAs. Really, the only major downsides are some of the dialogue changes (expected of any dub out there), and the slightly inferior voices for Kazuma and Megumin.

I really recommend reading the spin offs, especially Megumin's and Dust spin off novels (Dust is the blonde dude in the red jacket). Their stories really add a lot to the world building, especially Megumin's spin off novels, which gives more context to some events beyond the movie. And Dust... Dust is basically Kazuma and Aqua bunched up together into a single person, but the mystery of his past and the intrigue of what made him the person he is now keeps the story somewhat interesting, and his stories also give more great moments for characters like Yunyun and the Loli Succubus (the succubus that tried to infiltrate Kazuma's mansion). Though I don't really recommend binge reading them to the end without catching up to the main series' storyline, which is at Volume 16 (with 17 just releasing in Japan, the final volume of the story). Currently the anime has adapted five volumes, with the movie adapting most of the events of Volume 5.

Oh yeah tip if you're really interested in the story line and arc of the anime, read the light novels. There are stories and scenes there that weren't shown in the anime that are really good. Its a bit tad long per light novel but if you're immersed in the series, that's the go to

For y’all that have finished the series I really recommend the light novels. It continues the main story and I’m currently at like part 9 in only a couple of days. Tbh I legit only started reading it cause I wanted to see kazuma and Megumin get it off but now I’m reading it cause it’s actually really good.

Now that you said the thing about funny, you got me thinking, and you're dead on. Konosuba is the only anime I can really think of that gets me laughing hard. There are are arch's in the show and movie that you just don't see coming, and when the punchline finally lands, its just wonderful.
