USING PRESSURE POINTS
- KYUSHO JITSU
Studying pressure points and their effects can
help you to increase your understanding and
awareness of your own body-energy system
as well that of your partner.
Pressure points help you to enhance control,
induce a certain reaction and directed movement
in the attacker or weaken their structure
and power.
PRESSURE POINTS NOMENCLATURE
In the western world a system
is often used where each acupuncture point
is identified by the meridian on which
it is located and its number in the point
sequence on that channel.
For example, Lu-10 identifies the 10th
acupuncture point on the Lung meridian.
SJ-3 is the 3rd point on the San Jiao (Triple Heater)
meridian.

Wonderful, thank you! Finally some Atemi Waza! The essential part of Aikido! People talk trash about Aikido, I never listen. Even if you do not utilise specific Kyusho, a good ole thump on the general direction tends to work as well!

All controls ikkyo, nikkyo, sankyo, kotegaeshi etc. require atemi waza or at the very least kuzushi (breaking the balance) to be effective. Especially in the case of a larger stronger adversary. The kata demonstration was insightful. Arigatou gozai masu. 😊

I sincerely thank you very much, showing an important part of Aikido: Atemi Waza. Nage, Katame and Atemi Waza are three branches of the same tree. Some times I see Karatedo Atemi Waza applied to Aikido and that's a misunderstood way of practicing the real Aikido Atemi. Every Budo has its own techniques curriculum, such as Judo, Karatedo, Aikido, Kempo and Jujutsu. Best wishes and blessings from Spain.

I was studying jujutsu a bit and I've read some old instructional book with techniques and other stuff. And this book at first says about atemi (If I remember correctly it was even first chapter). This is crucial knowledge for jujutsu and aiki jujutsu to be effective in real world vs opponent which resist and bigger or stronger than you. Thank you for sharing your techniques and knowledge.

Later, I learned a lot from late Nishio Sensei. But my training also includes gotai style practice, a lot of center (tanden) training, kyusho and principles of internal martial arts from qigong and taiji.

I am sorry but what you show is NOT a martial art - it is theoretical philosophy. For any art to be a martial art, it must have 1: the use of actual and strong power in its moves, 2: a resisting and unexpected partner 3: a sparring level of the possibility of slight to medium hurt. without these 3 legs - you are just philosophizing and any 2nd year boxing. mauythai or BBJ practitioner will put you down even if you been studying aikido philosophy for 20 years.

@@shaiisnotavailable well aikido is also bushido, battoujutsu, aikibattou wich is sword training, after your kids put him down, try doing a "sword sparring" since fist and leg movements are the essence muay thai, and sword and jô katas the essence of aikido, it is true that modern aikido in several schools has a lot of fantasy and people who don' t train with proper contact end overthinking their own abilities, but sparring and testing those abilities are a personal go of the martial artist, if he want to improve it by doing it or not it s his own problem, it is different times and a different context for aikido in general, but if you wan t to test the whole martial art that you seem to be denigrating i suggest you try sword fighting with him
@yoom8622
@yoom8622 5 жыл бұрын
@@rozanshoryoha - to respectfully answer you ( its a different youtube name for some reason still me though) to try sword sparring with anyone, to see if its sword fighting style is effective, you must put against it another sword fighting style, and yes, any Kendo trained person would fare much better than any 'Bokken only and lets pretend we are fighting' Aikidoka, simply because their training if FAR more real and therefor effective. And saying that if someone 'wants to improve or not by sparring is its own problem' is incorrect, as your art and teacher should be able to offer and incorporate safe and professional sparring practices or you cannot do it by your own, can you, to advance in any art. I am not 'denigrating' Aikido. Mearly explaining WHy it is an impractical and unrealistic style on many levels. I love its philosophy, and its grace of movements, and have spend about 4 years training in it in 3 different school and under grade 9 teacher. But again and again have been put-down but the absolute and complete lack of any wish to put any of the theoretical training into the most basic sparring environment, which, when after two hours of Aikido you go to do two hours of boxing, (which I did for eyars) or two hours of Thai-Boxing (which I also did fir years) or BJJ (which I tried few times) you can very easily see WHY Aikido simply FAILED as in the test of being a real Martial-Art, and is occupying some sort of a make-belief area which is amazingly beautiful, and very graceful, and meditation-ally very charming, but will get you punched up badly if you ever tried to use it in real life against a real pumped up person attaching you with the most basic boxing skills.

The problem with Aikido "striking" is that it's more metaphorical and symbolic than something Aikidoka actually practice and train. It's like you just say "there's a strike here" or "I could hit this guy this way" without trying it on a fully resisting opponent. Imagine a boxer who trained by just telling his opponent "I could throw a jab here" and walking away. Boxes spend hours and hours working their strikes, practicing for speed, accuracy, and power. Aikidoka should do the same. Don't just say techniques "exists" or Aikido "has" strikes, drill the hell out of them. Because if you ever have to use these on someone who's fighting back, existing isn't enough.
@aikido-internalarts
@aikido-internalarts 5 жыл бұрын
This video is not about hitting an resisting opponent full force as I believe to have already mentioned. It serves another purpose. I agree that strikes should be practised to make them work. But how do you know which aikidoka is practising what?
@LAVATORR
@LAVATORR 5 жыл бұрын
@@aikido-internalarts As a person with functioning eyeballs, you don't need to tell me nobody is resisting in this video. That's pretty obvious. My point is that 99.9% of Aikidoka stop at the "compliant partner" phase. You guys have a very, very bad reputation for that. If somebody uses the phrase "Aikido striking", it is always the punchline to a bad joke. Nobody trains in Aikido for its striking techniques because Aikido striking is notoriously half-assed. You ask me how I know which Aikidoka is training striking. That question is comically easy to answer. You might as well ask the same question of any random person taken off the strert. Just watch how they throw and train strikes. You can tell immediately.

@LAVATORR
@LAVATORR 5 жыл бұрын
@@aikido-internalarts Hold on, let's clarify something because it's absolutely critical to our discussion: Are you claiming that Aikido striking can stand on its own two feet against anyone but an untrained drunk? In other words, do you believe the average Aikidoka could hold their own in a striking match against someone with equal training in boxing, kyokushin, Muay Thai, etc? Is your argument that Aikido striking is adequate against a competent, resisting opponent?
@aikido-internalarts
@aikido-internalarts 5 жыл бұрын
@@LAVATORR I don't claim anything. It is you who comes up with statements so it's on you to provide proof. You can't proof anything in martial arts by video or by words. Martial arts are vast and deep, there is always somebody who is better than you at something.
