Vietnam Airlines B787-9 Review: VN50 London to Ho Chi Minh City by KonstiYH

Vietnam Airlines (Vietnamese: Hãng Hàng không Quốc gia Việt Nam) is the flag carrier of Vietnam. Founded in 1956 under the name Vietnam Civil Aviation, the airline was established as a state-owned enterprise in April 1989. Vietnam Airlines is headquartered in Long Biên District, Hanoi, with hubs at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) and Ho Chin Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN). The airline flies to 64 destinations in 17 countries, excluding codeshared services.
At the end of 2017 just after Christmas, I had the pleasure to experience the excellent inflight services onboard Vietnam Airlines' flagship, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on one of its major route from London Heathrow Airport to Ho Chi Minh City Tan Son Nhat Internatinal Airport. Once ravaged by war; look where Vietnam is today. Just proves the work ethic that leads to economic success of a nation........(My nephew experienced co-piloting A320's for a short-term fill-up for Bamboo and thought Vietnam was amazing.)

Totally agree with You. Vietnamese have worked very hard to progress despite the cruel war with America 🇺🇸 but they have since moved on and no one seems begrudge about the past. All the best to your nephew too! 🙏♥

I love going to Vietnam with Vietnam airlines the flight attendants are so polite and amazing the plane is stunning in total Vietnam airlines has a rating from me of 10/10

Yes, i had an amazing time in Viet Nam. I can fully understand why you chose Vietnam Airlines as your favourite airline. I like Vietnamese culture very much, i also found out during my second visit to Vietnam this year, lots of similarity in Vietnamese language and Cantonese or even Mandarin, that's why i can understand some words in Vietnamese. My longest flight was from London Heathrow airport to Sylhet Osmani airport which took 10:30hr and I was dying of how long it was, however people can cope with 12:00hr flight.

Hi Les, i personally recommend Vietnam Airlines, they are improving quite nicely in the past 10 years, now a 4-star airlines, on par with Thai Airways and better than British Airways. If your Thai Mrs is travelling from Bangkok, it will of course take longer to reach the UK, i assumed you are from the UK. Usually connections will be in either Saigon/ Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi the capital. The best connection will take the whole journey from Bangkok to London Heathrow in 18 HOURS 45 mins, including transit time 3 hours in Saigon. A direct one-way flight from Bangkok to London is roughly £360 with Thai Airways. If you can book a Vietnam Airlines ticket for a much cheap price, I say go for it. Alternatively, try Norwegian Air via Stockholm or Copenhagen, one-way from £200, but you need to pay extra for check0-in luggage and meals.

i think so, just before i board the plane at Heathrow Terminal 4, the ground staff check boarding pass and keep the larger part, and returned the smaller part to me.
