Great video! I thought I was going crazy trying to figure out why I was getting all those harsh pops and crackling sounds. Nearly all my samples are recorded at 48000 Hz.

Sound Author same here! I was actually having trouble (pops and clicks) with a spitfire library and support suggested to turn off the AET filter in their preset. I came here to figure out what the AET does!

@@GuidoQuinceMaat Oh, wow. Which library had the AET filter?

@@CordaroRodriguez Haha I had to dig a bit, as this was 3 years ago - It was the Gwilym Simcock one. The names of their piano's have changed a bit, but I believe it is the 'Originals Felt Piano' nowadays. Not to be mistaken with the ACTUAL original 'Felt Piano' (which is an absolute must have by the way) from back in the Unicef donation days, which is a free download in their 'labs' department called the 'Soft Piano'. I believe they repurposed the Gwilym Simcock felt piano samples into the 'Originals Felt Piano', which is nice. I think it was a good move, because to be honest, I'd advise you to steer clear of the original... It was a mess.

@@GuidoQuinceMaat that is good to know! Yes, I lift the labs soft piano... And I actually use it more than the Originals, haha

Great explanation. Good video. BUT: You are using 3 almost identical sounding waveforms. That's a bit odd IMHO.

Yeah I can't remember why I did that, maybe they were just the samples I had to hand when I made the video...

Hi David..I know this is an old vid but you mentioned at the end crossfading different instruments eg. a guitar and a flute..could you possibly expand on this, how to set it up? When I try it just sounds like a volume crossfade because the group with the AET FX turns down with the mod wheel..thanks!

Ah I've worked it out thanks again for the vid!
