@TEAM__POSEID0N12 күн бұрын
Absolutely they should have the right and freedom to speak out about political issues...if they want to. As for "backlash"...the "public" has no obligation to like or support anything an idol says. So if an idol says something stupid or something the public doesn't like, they'll get "backlash". In this case, they really didn't say anything bravely or strongly anyway. The president is extremely UNPOPULAR and martial law is extremely UNPOPULAR...so when the idols make some expressions that generally support the POPULAR position it's not likely that they will get any "backlash". In fact, if they had made statements that strongly support the president and martial law...then they would have gotten huge "backlash" from the public. The video is misleading. It tries to make it sound like the idols are leading the people and influencing the people with strong political statements. That did not happen. The idols are just in line with the general popular opinion of the public and normal people. They aren't leading or influencing anything.

I think it is a good thing that kpop artists are making their voices heard on any number of issues. The global impact of kpop makes what they say matter to many around the world. If a fan or follower agrees or disagrees with what they say that's ok. It doesn't mean they shouldn't say it. I am proud to be a member of society that stands up for what is right and is not afraid to say it.
@TEAM__POSEID0N12 күн бұрын
The report is quite misleading. In reality, nobody said anything particularly risky. Almost all of the images and video clips showing idols speaking into mics really have no connection to the current events. They're just random clips and images from past unrelated things. The narration of the video is talking about idols "speaking out" and "condemning the president" and stuff like that while showing the clips and images...but the clips and images are not showing that because most of the clips and images are from totally unrelated events. And the real words spoken by the idols sort of related to the martial law (M.L.) scandal are basically just telling people to be safe and to not catch cold or they're just a bit ambiguous. The president is already super unpopular, so it's not like the president is going to go after idols for generally giving warm wishes to the people of the country. Like the report about I.M., they make it seem like he was speaking out against the president, but all he did was read an announcement that the radio show gave him to read when M.L. was declared and then the report said that he looked "visibly shaken". Who wouldn't look visibly shaken? It's not something any normal person would celebrate.

Well, almost all of the clips and images of idols speaking shown in this video are totally unrelated and are random clips/images from past unrelated events. The video narration talks about "speaking out" and stuff like that while the images are shown, which is misleading. None of the idols really said anything risky or brave. 90% or more of the population was against the President and martial law anyway. And the idols didn't say anything strongly. Like the first example of I.M. announcing the martial law declaration when it happened (because the radio show gave him the announcement to read) and then looking "visibly shaken" has nothing to do with the video title ("publicly condemned south korea's president"). Nothing in the report really matches that title or the misleading video narration. One of the first images they show is BTS members in front of a mic. But BTS was not involved in any public statements or announcements relevant to the situation.

Even New Jeans having the public turn on them, New Jeans still supported the people but ablume ran. ablume's actions will be noted by their peers in the industry and they will have an even harder time. I don't think anyone really risked anything. The "report" here is very misleading. Yoon is very unpopular in Korea. Obviously the idols...just like 90% of the entire population did not agree with the martial law declaration and it was defeated by the parliament very quickly. The video shows random clips of idols speaking into microphones and makes it seem like the clips are showing them speaking in clear opposition to the president. But almost all of the clips are all from random past events that have no relationship to the president or martial law. The one that showed I.M. during the radio interview may be related to the actual event, but he didn't really say anything in condemnation of martial law or the president. He was given a statement to read announcing the declaration of martial law...and then the report says he was "visibly shaken". That's it. And idols aren't risking anything by telling people to be safe and not catch colds. I'm not saying the idols are doing anything wrong. But the title and theme of this video report doesn't really match the facts.

@TEAM__POSEID0N they literally being targeted by Yoon's Goons as we speak. They literally murked an investigator that was about to spill about the dior bag bribery. It is dangerous and does set a precedence for them to get political when they aren't. Under mining their risk when because 'everyone else' doing it doesn't change the risks involved when the smoke clears. And when it does? ablume straight up ran to the US to go terrorize Keena some more is what people will remember. Def could have used the plane fare to feed some citizens but we already know ablume the ones that have been selfish and greedy the whole time so of course they sight seeing in the states the same time as Keena and will play dumb about it.

@@aoiumenokouji4172 Interesting. Do you have any actual evidence showing that they are being targeted by "Yoon's Goons as we speak"....or is that still in the rumor stage? How would you know whether it's "Yoon's Goons" or HYBE's goons? I suspect that Yoon and his supporters have bigger worries to focus on. I get that Kpop fans like to make up fan-fiction and then start believing that their fan fiction is reality. But I live in a world where evidence actually matters. I don't know who "ablume" and "keena" are or what connection they have to Yoon and martial law. Update: Oh...you're talking about the new fifty-fifty stuff. If you think Yoon and the government are focusing on this kind of stuff, you're obviously trapped inside a Kpop fantasy bubble.

Yes, it's a case of false captioning of images and exaggeration through interpretation. Virtually none of the celebrity/idol images and scenes shown as clips have any connection with the martial law and impeachment situation. They're just random clips from unrelated past events. I feel bad for people who rely on Kpop gossip channels for "news". In this case, they had many situations where the "report" claims that "so and so spoke out against the president"...then deeper in the report it turns out they really didn't say anything. For example, in the first case shown, all that happened was that I.M. simply was on a radio show and given an announcement to read about the declaration of martial law and was "visibly shaken up". Obviously, most idols wouldn't be happy about martial law. But they weren't really making public speeches condemning the president. Like the random clip of Jimin and BTS at a microphone was shown as though it had some connection to this report. But it was totally unrelated.

So by you saying "standing up for what's right..." what is the right thing? Because the same Kpop "fans" turn their blind eye to the abuse this entertainers go through and put up with. The fact they are NOT marketed as people but as objects; objects to own and control is ok? If the entertainers were to speak out about it, you and I know, they would get pummeled by this so called "fans". The fact if they are to be found out to be dating or even smoking they will get pummeled as well. Can they talk openly about that? That is just 1 example.

I don't know why so many people get angry at artists or celebrities voicing their political opinions. You don't lose your right to speak or protest just because you choose an artist's career. Artists are not dumb and generally are some of the most politically aware people in any society.
@WolfLadyHali13 күн бұрын
Because usually idols or artists in general have a lot of influence and if they will carelessly voice an oppinion that they did not investigated deeply enough they can definetly case harm, as their fans tend to accept their opinions without second checking. It seems that this case was special though because it was not so complicated as the president really had so little suoport for his actions, even some of his own political party voted against the military rule, and also the consequences will affect them directly, unlike commenting on some far away politics, so they had more urgency to comment
@wwxnho989413 күн бұрын
And in America that's just how exactly democrats get mad at republicans for saying something, when democrats actually say a lot themselves. Let people voice their opinions freely without getting mad just because the opinion is different.
@TEAM__POSEID0N12 күн бұрын
Some people get angry when opinions they don't agree with are voiced by artists or celebrities. Those same people usually love it when opinions they agree with are voiced by artists or celebrities. The hypocrisy is pervasive on both sides of any issue when it comes to artists or celebrities speaking out. "Good" opinion = good celebrity. "Bad" opinion = bad celebrity. That's how most people see things. In reality, SOME artists are very thoughtful, insightful, well-read and well-informed. Many are not. Many just go with the group-think flow of whatever sub-culture they are part of and don't want to offend people who can make or break their careers. It's also not unusual that some celebrities are paid or rewarded for saying things to influence the public in one direction or another. In general, virtually nobody really thinks that artists and celebrities don't have a RIGHT to speak or protest. What a lot of people don't like is the attitude that a famous person's opinion is more valid or important than anyone else's opinion just because they're famous or that a famous person's opinion can't be criticized because they're famous. Criticism of an opinion is different from saying that someone has no right to an opinion.
