That was the heart she took while getting out of SM and that was the part of the reason why she was looking for new beginning. Fromis9 and New Jeans are now competing for the longest breaks between albums under Hybe multi label system.

Just because some segments are similar does not mean that the entire work is based on the original. Because many works of art are inspired by other previous works of art, the industry allows for some similarities. Ultimately, they are all inspirational works of art, so small details may be similar. This cannot be considered illegal. The law clearly states this. If the concept is 8090, it is inevitable that there will be fashions and colors that are similar to of that era. For me the problem is that the new group is copying a group that is currently active. Hardly anything can be brand new and original today, not saying that people can't be creative anymore, but rather we are in an age where everything is recycled and inspired from the past. I don't see the copying/inspiration of New Jeans as a problem because imagine they did the same concept as IVE or Aespa, or imagine any of those groups doing the same as any other active group. Making ILLIT so similar while NJ doesn't even have two years in the market is just laziness from their company and they wouldn't have dared to do that if they weren't under HYBE because SM, CUBE, Starship and so on wouldn't allow it.

I have watched and listened to 5 Jeans songs recently. And trust me when I say, Newjeans and Jeans are NOTHING alike. Not their dance choreography, music style, or music videography. NJ's only misfortune is that their group name is similar to Jeans, they are both girl groups, and they both incorporate Y2K fashion 😑.

All the plagiarism and internal stifles aside, normally debuting two similar close by with similar concepts under a single company is essentially diluting both their groups value. But even then they could have complemented so well each other with their similarities and uniqueness but the management decided against that and here we are now.
