I have been watching the lovely Kate Field on KZbin and she has been using some really interesting paint from The Works to play with in her sketchbook - I had to get some to try.

Wow, you sure made those bargain paints shine shine shine. I love the backgrounds you created. So lovely, I know I always say this but... I can't wait to see what the backgrounds become. Quite inspiring even if painting is like the one arty creative thing I just can not do, yet. Liking the rainbow top or at least the bits we could see. Right up your street, no? Lovely bright fun paintings. Gosh that paint was rather good. I’ve brought cheep paint and it was awful, yep worse than awful, lol. Still I wish I could say I had fun but the whole thing was one big mess from start to finish. Thankfully the paint never stained any clothing. Lovely fun watch, hope we get to see more of your play art time.

Great fun! Really good value for money and such gorgeous colours. 0 - 3 sad onions as my daughter says. Cos the little face looks like an onion! Reminds me of the Herbs….

I wondered what the difference was between gouache and poster paint and seemingly it's the size of the pigment particles....every days a school day....I may have to substitute poster paints for gouache in my sketchbook ramblings from now on 😊 xx

That’s right - it’s all about the pigment particles and the quality and amount of pigment. These ready mixed paints are such fun and because they are relatively inexpensive then I am happier trying out things which I may not with the expensive watercolour or gouache because I wouldn’t want to waste them :) xx
