When I heard Kool & the Gang were on the ballot this year, I made sure I voted every day & told friends & family to vote too. So many great songs. For my 18th birthday, I went to FL to visit my Aunt & Uncle; they took me out to Smugglers Inn, bought me my first legal drink & had the DJ play Celebration for me. They sound fantastic! Congratulations Kool & the Gang. Long overdue & deserving of this induction. I know members of the band who have earned their wings were singing, playing & dancing in heaven. 👏🏻👍🏻❤️🙏🏼🎷🎺🎸🎹

How in the hell is Michael Ray (trumpet) not part of this induction and performance group??!! He joined in 1979 and still performs with them! I met and played with Michael in the late 1990s during his hiatus but he was with Kool from ‘79-‘91 and then ‘07- to present. He deserves to be honored!!
