funkmex ahead of his time? You make it sound like there's people in the game now within light years of him. It AIN'T. He was right on time because the golden age of hip hop we tell y'all youngins about was about having your own style, not sounding like anybody else and dropping the hottest lyrics that could come out of you.

G Rap is hands down, 1 of the Greatest of all time. He's still dropping classic albums to this day. 'The Godfathers - Once Upon A Crime' album, that he did with Necro, is fucking incredible. And the 'Return Of The Don' album & 'Son Of G Rap' album that he did with 38 Spesh were both killer albums as well. G Rap's definitely the most consistent Emcee from the 80's Era, and just in general.

The disrespect to Kane in these comments. Kane wrote all his verses and is responsible for G rap's style. G Rap calls Kane his mentor. Listen to early G Rap and you can tell he rapped different before he added the multiple syllable Kane style

@@ghettoasfuckxp G Rap himself calls Kane his "mentor". He's said so in many interviews. They used to trade bars over the phone. If you listen to Ill street blues you'll see G Rap switched his style to match Kane's after Kane started rapping fast the year before on Prince of Darkness. Facts

my first paid gig as an actor. although only a small part as an extra, very memorable experience in Brooklyn. the guys were all great. 50 bucks plus bagels in the morning and tuna sandwhiches for lunch ( the rappers had gourmet catered food...Biz Mark only ate fried chicken) I was a 19 year old kid and I felt like I just hit lotto. thats me on the stairs to the right of biz mark with the black tee and gold chain

ROAD TO THE RICHES was a great street ''coming up'' album, but WANTED:DEAD OR ALIVE really raised up Kool G.Rap's delivery to Massive effect, with production from up and coming producers like a early Large Pro.He mixed in Crime killer intrigue with this uplifting tracks as this one, that really proves he could expand his subjects beyond other fake gangster rappers. The JUICE CREW reins Supreme.
