This song is fascinating when you really put your ear to it. The rhythm carries the melody throughout the entire song. Yet it's never repetitive or overbearing. There's a lot going on within the instrumentation as well as the vocal performances in every KOOL and GANG section of the song. No part is exactly the same. Everything in this song just seems to totally click. Great composition and recording. It's a masterpiece of our timeless BLACK music culture.

almost every 70s song is a fascination brother. i know what you mean. but so many tracks from that time do this, and are like that. sister sledge, george benson, oliver cheatham. the artists in the 70s were just killing it. there will never be another golden age on the level of the 70s. the talent and the skill. you just cant get any better than the funk.
