LOL! One of reasons I started playing bass when I was the 5th grade in ‘79. Two songs made me beg my mom to help me get a bass to learn(my dad was never into having us learn any of the arts, all sports)……”…Sharing The Night”/Dr. Hook….and “Ladies Night”. When i heard them I was blown away. “Sharing the Night” because of the entire songs bass line…….but it was ONLY “Ladies Night” opening slide that hooked me into my obsession of the sounds that the bass could make. I couldn’t believe at the time that it was the bass that made those sounds😁10yr old brain for you. Of course, since I love just about any genre, I branched out to play KISS, Boston, Thin Lizzy, Chicago, The Who and more recently stuff like Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift…. But, I think Kool and the Gang’s music is near the top of bass tunes I know the most song nags of. They have nice funk songs. Cool grooves. LADIES NIGHT is def one. “FRESH” is another smooth one. The Funk sound is fun for bass players, imho. Like JAZZ. It’s kind of why I love Amy Winehouse stuff. Especially “You Know I’m No Good”. Great job on this live version, brother. Very cool.
