That remark about crossbows is so true. My archery teacher brought in this guy who apparently has been shooting professionally for years. He demonstrated the different bows he has, and how they shoot differently from each other. And when he shot using his crossbow, the backlash smacked him in the nose. He seemed very used to it and only flinched a little, so at first we didn't think it was a big deal. Until he started bleeding right after. The backlash literally made the edge of the scope cut into his nose bridge.
