Any hex and torx,I get a pick or small screwdriver out cleaning the dirt and crud out first blowing it out with compressed air.I break them loose by hand first.

Those rethread files are a must have bailed me out two weeks ago on a Eaton trans in a big truck on the output shaft

Those thread files are worth their weight in gold. They're especially good when someone has cross-threaded a fastener and you need to clean up the damaged threads. Every mechanic needs a set of those in their toolbox.

Clay I think the RBRT is the one to have. Those retread tools are the ones that sit in your box for long time but when you need them you sure are glad you have them.🔧🔧🔧🔧

my matco guy had a Grey 2s on the truck today and I had to get off the truck before he unloaded it in the shop it is just what I need and I will get one in the next few months for sure my box is almost busting at the seams lol

Tap & Dies are for making new threads. A rethreading set and thread files are for fixing existing threads that are damaged or cleaning out crud.

Man, Michael looks different since he shaved and lost some weight. Kinda like when a tv show replaces an actor and hopes you don’t notice lol. I bought those thread files a few years back when a guy cleaned up an adapter that was little boogered. After that, I bought some that week. I may only use them a couple times a year, but I’m happier than hell I got em when I need ‘em.

Mac’s RBRT is the best tbh.. from Mac they say to use RBRT first and not use it only in striped bolts. So use it like as a you would with your regular Allens.

It is nice to see Michael and Leslie. I haven’t seen them in a while. Clay can you address two issues with them please, you have done this previously, but I don’t remember. I Michael is not my local dealer, and I don’t need an account, can I order directly from them? I have some exposure and I like their approach. I understand each dealer will be different, but will the various companies allow this? The other item, this is a very unusual request, those handle covers for the thread chasing tools, can those be ordered separately? I believe those would provide a solution to several problems I face. Thank you.

They can’t sell outside the route that Matco sets for them but if you come to the truck they can sell. As far as the handle cover I have no clue on that.

RBRT will strip 3/4” of 1/4-20 threads in aluminum without even starting to strip the head!! I’ve broken 2 bits by hand…

I don't buy snap on. However I like matco tools. But they can't hold a candle to Mac rbrt. Snap out of it Mac tools rule. I do like the fact that when you watch nhra you can see what tool companies control the circuit. It's not snap on.
