Great job and video thanks my friend keep up the great work. I like the setup you don't have to support the hood when you take the radiator brackets off. Great job see you on the next video thanks again. I do remember rebuild kits for the clutch fan did a few in my time.

I wished they still allowed you to actually fix a part instead of replacing a part. Guess the good ole days of trucking are long gone in more ways than one. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time out to leave a comment.

Hey I really enjoyed it you have some awesome stuff going on over there ! You know the trucking business and we are on the same page about so many things ! It is a shame the way they build parts, the days of actually fixing parts is almost gone to the way side by replacing and wasting money ! I hate that ! Thanks for watching and thank you for taking the time to comment.

Because the clutch is out. Those work opposite than the old ones. The old ones when clutch went out fan would stay on the new ones rely on air to push the clutch to make contact to spin the fan (I know stupid design that leave you stranded on the road, unlike the old ones that let you keep going but just hurt your fuel mileage) You will have to replace it

I've been driving trucks my whole life and I always thought the fail safe on the engine fan was one of the smartest designs an engineer ever came up with. Makes sense they would change the design since it's been working great for many many years. Hahaha

I’ve got a different problem. My air compressor is leaking and I think it’s sending a little dab on oil through the whole pneumatic system. I believe oil has been blown thru that 1/4in line and I believe the clutch ring/plate is coated in oil leaving it to run nonstop. Of course the noise, fuel mileage but it’s making the A/C not cool. Anyone come across this do you think that’s a possibility? I did see a tiny bit of oil on that 1/4 line where it goes into the top of the clutch. Thought about spraying parts cleaner down that tube and just take it off up on solenoid. Ideas?

Wierd they dont have rebuild kit for those. We had one go bad one of ours, had 2 levels of kits and went with more complete kit to rebuild one on the cascadias. Always gotta stick them in pain in ass to get to places now a days though
@KoonTrucking7 жыл бұрын
Bearded Seabee82 yeah guess paccar figures you can spend a little more money. They have those stupid proprietary filters only they can sell and they jack the price up on them because they don’t offer an aftermarket so you gotta pay $58 for a fuel filter (our cost). Guess they aren’t making enough money ! Haha

Steven Jones it was but we fixed it I meant to show that on video. We were in a rush to get the truck out. Always happens seems like when you rush. Always the simple mistakes seems like. It was caught right after that shot was done.

Those Borg-Warner fan hubs are junk, Paccar thought the Horton hubs had a high failure rate and switched to BW, then hub failures went up 50%. Nice video, still hate the MX engine.
@kurtmursu52916 жыл бұрын
Paccar made Borg Warner make a new fan clutch just for their trucks. Paccar wanted it to be lighter weight than the original Borg Warner fan clutches, so they made the top part of the fan clutch out of aluminum (bad idea). They had a lot of failures because the friction material would wear into the aluminum top, which you can see in this video when they disassemble the fan clutch. Borg Warner has since obsoleted this aluminum design and went back to the all steel design for the Paccar applications. Kit Masters also offers a replacement option, part # 8801N.

Steven Jones I want one of the 14.4 but i figure i will wait. I’m sure they will come out with a brushless motor soon so then it won’t be long before i would have to upgrade.
