Nice walk at this lovely neighbourhood, it really is a huge Coffeeshop there

There's also a small wet market and shops at the far side of this big coffeeshop. I often have my meals here as I live in Sengkang.

We have heard that Kopitiam was originally a food culture started by people from Hainan. Now, in food courts located in various areas of Singapore, it’s something we are familiar with as well! Through your video, we were able to see Singapore’s largest Kopitiam this time! It also captures the deliciousness of hawker food from various countries and the freshness of the Wet Market behind it.☝️😊 Someday, we look forward to the video footage after the renovation as well. I didn't know that it's started from people from Hainan. You know more nuggets of Singapore than us! I hope the prices won't go up too much after renovation. The wet market is small but popular. I will make another recording after the renovation. This will take many months as they are renovating in stages.

OMG 🤤food look so good, making me hungry 😋 The wet market meat section looked different from previous years. I remembered always waiting for my mother at the edge of the market, I can never step into the wet market 😅. I vomited once when I accompanied her to do marketing so from then on I will wait outside to help carry the stuff...good times 🤣.

So now you only go to ozzy supermarkets? Any wet or community markets there? The wet markets in Sengkang are all very small ones. There was an outbreak of Nipah virus (from pigs) in Malaysia and Singapore in 1999. Since then all meats sold at markets must be stored in chilled display. Till today, all Singapore's neighbours are still selling meat without refrigeration. We are the only country in the region doing this.

@@SingaporeCityWalks LOL my late mother did ask how am I going to do marketing. I told her I will do my marketing in supermarket. Who could have predicted that that's where I do actually do my groceries shopping. There are no wet markets here but there are shops that sells fresh seafood and meat like in the shopping centres but they usually don't smell that bad as in the wet market in Singapore. However my husband will be the one who goes in to buy if needed 😜

Such a nice market, the food court I think......Buangkok Hawker Ctre is better
@SingaporeCityWalks
@SingaporeCityWalks 8 ай бұрын
Buangkok Hawker Centre is cleaner, have some upmarket offerings and is more expensive. It's cheaper here. And if you pay with NTUC Fairprice app, you will get a 10% discount. A good deal.

Just came across this video. Being a true~blue 80 year old Singaporean I love traditional , old school type of cuisine… be it Chinese, Malay, Indian ….etc.Saw some I wish to try even though I don’t know where this coffee shop is located. I’ve never been to Sengkang. However, I’m disappointed that as usual, youtubers don’t provide info on timings~~ opening & closing. Quite often when I arrive ar the stall/s at about 6pm , it/ they are closed.

Hi Mandy, thank you for watching and your comment. Kopitiam Square is about 100m from Sengkang MRT station/CompassOne Mall. Look for the Mall exit near 7-Eleven and you can see Kopitiam Square. This is a 24-hr food court without air conditioning. Many stalls are open for dinner, only a few are open 24hrs. KZbinrs can't give you too much information as conditions or open/close timing may change. It is best to google the internet with your mobile phone to get the up-to-date information.

You are correct. The whole row is closed for renovation. This video was recorded before they started renovation. I'll add this remarks in the video description. Thanks for your comment.

Your food court vlogs always make me envy 🥲 we only have mostly westernized Asian restaurants here. A few authentic ones but usually located on the other side of the city …

Hi, saw dry vege stalls, fruits stall , dry food stalls / 干粮, all this stalls also kopitiam? Can known kopitiam bought over by NTUC foodfare ?
@SingaporeCityWalks
@SingaporeCityWalks 7 ай бұрын
This place is named as Kopitiam Square as Kopitiam is the anchor tenant. NTUC Fairprice Group (NTUC Fairprice, NTUC Foodfair, Kopitiam and Link) bought over Kopitiam in 2018. There's a wet market, tailoring, sundries, fruits, electrical, laundry, minimarts, optical, Kcuts, Nails and a Pawnshop at the far end of this building. I don't know who own these.
