But I can't recall if it was the original Korea or the Japanese version. Back then, many Koreans were already known in the Philippines but were mistaken to be Japanese / J-Pop. Another is “Super Star” by Jewelry, released in 2005 (although the group was formed in 2001, if I remember correctly. LOL. I always heard Super Star in Philippine radio and played on the streets by pirated cassette vendors. :P

If I remember correctly, one of the song by Seo Taiji & Boys also became popular in the Philippines. * Seo Taiji & Boys (1992) was the first “modern” K-pop (but they are not “idols”; idols started in 1998/1999; a sub-genre of “modern” K-pop). The thing was, they were either mistaken as Japanese thus as either J-pop or J-rock; or Latino Pop.
