Still singing, still smiling, still performing and not falling during her ascent of the wet staircase. Gold medal worthy.

Usually I like her but this was a huge disappointment. This awful trend in many "star" performances is very disturbing, not showing their dancers' faces or being heavily masked etc. They are not seen, not heard. I thought she would be above this crap. I really thought she was smarter than this.

I get you though with dancers not being heard. Check out Jungle they do great at showing off dancers in amazing choreographies.

I love how this performance is a beautiful tribute to cabaret music and style. It's frivolous, glamorous and jovial, exactly what we needed to open this ceremony. Gaga delivers nice vocals effortlessly and her accent is actually nice and sounds beautiful. I loved the piano's part. ✨️

This was the most honoring gesture to Paris someone could have ever made. Coming from this globally acclaimed mega pop star and a genuine showman with her long meter of the Las Vegas show residency, just shows how much Paris had influenced and shaped show business, pop culture and culture in general. I Love how Gaga has matured over time since her breakthrough and is still making current and bold artistic statements in edgy-sophisticated kinda way, not as shocking in-your-face as we absolutely needed back in ‘09 when Bad Romance got out. A slick performance, truly showcasing what a good old show is really about. I love it

This is every Showgirl's dream!! Liza, Bette, and others must be in tears of joy watching this. They paved the way as well as others for moments like this for the next generation such as Lady Gaga. I feel so completely grateful to have been asked to open the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year. I am also humbled to be asked by the Olympics organizing committee to sing such a special French song-a song to honor the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theatre. This song was sung by Zizi Jeanmaire, born in Paris a French ballerina, she famously sang “Mon Truc en Plumes” in 1961. The title means “My Thing with Feathers.” And this is not the first time we’ve crossed paths. Zizi starred in Cole Porter’s musical “Anything Goes” which was my first jazz release. Although I am not a French artist, I have always felt a very special connection with French people and singing French music-I wanted nothing more than to create a performance that would warm the heart of France, celebrate French art and music, and on such a momentous occasion remind everyone of one of the most magical cities on earth-Paris. We rented pom poms from Le Lido archive-a real French cabaret theater. We collaborated with Dior to create custom costumes, using naturally molted feathers. I studied French choreography that put a modern twist on a French classic. I rehearsed tirelessly to study a joyful French dance, brushing up on some old skills-I bet you didn’t know I used to dance at a 60’s French party on the lower east side when I was first starting out! I hope you love this performance as much as I do. And to everyone in France, thank you so much for welcoming me to your country to sing in honor of you-it’s a gift I’ll never forget! Congratulations to all the athletes who are competing in this year’s Olympic Games! It is my supreme honor to sing for you and cheer you on!! Watching the Olympic Games always makes me cry! Your talent is unimaginable. Let the games begin!

Zizi's singing is so playful and powerful... you can feel the joy... and her dancing is so graceful! 10 seconds into her performance it is clear that she is representing a bird and her plume moves with her perfectly. In this Olympic performance, it was confusing with the 3 sets of feathers... didn't make sense... and while Gaga tried, her performance lacked the natural charisma of Zizi.

It reminds me of the diamonds are a girls best friend scene from birds of prey, despite the fact that her harley isn't going to be as colorful as margot's. Ironically that is also in moulin rouge, while the dancers didn't perform that in the ceremony, the musical version makes me think of harley's version, although single ladies ruins that vibe
