#JOANDAY is out and about in Seoul! South Korea is returning to ‘new normal’ amid covid curbs: www.bloomberg....
Average cases reported last week was 10 a day. People are still being careful and wearing masks EVERYWHERE. Almost every cafe/restaurant/stores in #Seoul require masks, using hand sanitizers before you enter, and some even check temperatures! I was also amazed by how Apple required customers to stand apart while waiting in line.

i'm simultaneously proud of korea and madly jealous. korea can re-open because they did everything right. the US is beginning to re-open because it's doing everything wrong. our second wave is gonna be BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD, and we're not going to even come close to korea's level of normal for a long long time. it's kind of what happens when you let an idiot run the show but hey, that aint my fault.

The data is actually suggesting this virus isn't nearly as bad as they originally expected. You can't expect to keep a country shutdown forever when it's really only effecting older people with preexisting conditions. Those people who are more likely to have issues should definitely be staying home and taking precautions. The rest of the world should be washing their hands and keeping safe distance but continue living. Ask yourself, why haven't the essential workers been dying in droves if this virus is as bad as they hyped it up to be? Grocery store employees, restaurants, healthcare workers etc haven't been any more affected by this than people who aren't working. We've followed all the rules up to this point but I have to say it's getting a bit ridiculous. It's not ok to prohibit anyone from working in my opinion. They can't print money fast enough to make up for the devastation it's causing. Wash your hands everyone!

Hi Joan - Being in London where Lockdown is still in effect, seeing places like South Korea slowly going back to normal is reassuring. I admire the countries that have managed the pandemic effectively, We are all in this together and I hope that we all are able to go back to normal soon in the next coming months. Omg your new Rattan chair for your vanity looks almost exactly like my family's old dining table chairs (they probably got it in the late 80's or 90's) except ours had a gray woven cushion on the bottom. Loving the furniture hauls!

Love watching you vlog outside again! I honestly gave up on summer 2020 already... Here in The Netherlands all events are cancelled until September 1st and it's still hard to find a job and live a normal life. Haven't seen my friends for weeks now, I really miss them :c
