Also, countless studies show that p*dophilia cannot be cured or fixed. The only thing they can do is choose to not act on their urges, and those people will never make that choice. An unfortunate consequence of the laws saying where offenders can live is that a lot of them end up homeless, which makes it impossible to keep track of them. We just had the most precious 5-year-old baby girl BRUTALLY assaulted and murdered because she and this monster were both living in the same homeless camp two blocks away from the elementary school I work at. It’s a big thing here because SO MUCH went wrong prior to the murder. I don’t think these predators should be allowed to have their own homes. I think they should have to live in highly supervised group homes and have some sort of intelligent gps monitors that make loud alarms if they get near schools, playgrounds, etc. So basically I’m saying they should just stay in jail.

This prosecutor needs to be brought up on charges of abuse. He obviously wanted her to slip up while retelling what had happened to her. Did he enjoy listening to what this poor little girl went through? I know the law states 'a person is innocent until proven guilty', but once their guilt is proven, it is not stated anywhere that they should be treated with dignity. For some criminals they should be treated like criminals were back in they days of colonisation. Being an Australian and living in a country that was partially settled as a penal colony, some modern day criminals need to suffer that kind punishment. Even some judges and lawyers who allow vermin, like this one, to get away without any punishment or to get out of prison should be treated as criminals. We are told, as human beings we have evolved. It is clear some humans haven't and never will.

I was wondering really hard in the beginning about this. And why it had to happen 4 times. After careful consideration, and if we exclude vile reasons such as "this prosecutor is just a sadist" and similar reasons there is the mildest form: too old to work with electric gadgets, hence also so strict with her posture (I don't know his age at the time, this is just what I would like to believe in his "defence") Or He made her repeat it on purpose to amp up his video recording. There is a possibility that "this recorder doesn't work" is a lie and that he knew the longer this little girl has to sit, the more she will look miserable on screen, making the whole case easier to win. This is still really really bad because it is torture on its own. But some people are so eager to win a case that they only see the victims as a tool, not as a client of theirs. 😢 Having that case must have boosted his credentials (at least he and maybe the judge thought like that)

Ok. I was a serious (heroin/oxycontin/cocaine) drug addict and for several of those 12 years I was also an alcoholic. And somehow I managed to not kill anyone, rape anyone, rob anyone, cheat on any boyfriends or my ex-husband or flirt/have sex with anyones bf or husband. I may have embarassed myself a few times but I am a firm believer that drugs/alcohol will not make you do anything that you didnt already want to do. Except maybe dance like no ones watching and drool a little while youre nodded out. Drugs and alcohol arent an excuse for your terrible behavior.

This is one of the worst flaws in the law system in almost every country. The vast majority of drug charges of individuals didn't pose any danger to a person but the consenting "offenders" themselves. Rehab availability and a generally improved education on drugs is almost always the right way to deal with this topic, yet people get stolen years off of their lives being opput into a cell instead. Meanwhile the hypocrisy lives on with one of the, factually speaking, most dangerous drugs out there, Alcohol, still being socially accepted and even advertised. It's so backward and unfortunate to see e.g. CP offenders getting a slap on the wrist while (especially in east asian countries like japan and SK) getting caught with a tab of acid could possibly mean to face over a decade in prison. I'm just somewhat hopeful to see a change when looking at the drug policies of portugal or the netherlands, where in the latter legal drug testing has been established and drugs such as cannabis and psilocybin are legal with mainly positive results for the country's economical and social aspect

I'm watching this while I'm recovering from the exact same surgery. It's absolutely brutal. A brutal, long recovery and a complete change in everything. As far as Jessica's Law - I wanted to point out that this came from a child named Jessica Lunsford from Homosassa, Florida. She lived in the same neighborhood as my mom and my children's grandparents currently live on the same street (however, the trailers where this occurred have been demolished). She was taken from her room, held captive, SA'd multiple times, and buried alive in a trash bag by her neighbor who was a convicted sex offender. Her father fought for the law. As A survivor of SA myself at the age of 6 by two men in my family i truly feel for this little girl, I’m on the hunt for justice for one of the men that got away, years later when i got older, i found that man and confronted him though Facebook just for a sorry and explication, something, But all i got was called a liar years later coming back to tell this person “I know what you did and i still remember only for this mans “girlfriend” replied instead to laugh at me and call me a liar and block me. The Predator i tried to confront than taunted my mother thought text, predators do not change. They do not deserve any kindness especially when they laugh at the fact you’re coming to them for a simple apology. Even just an apology and admitting to it. But no i couldn’t get that. I'm sure plenty of people got away with drunk driving incident, as long as it isn't murder, which supposedly now does get higher sentences even if drunk based on what Stephanie said. There's also so many horrifying cases on this channel about Korean teenagers killing other teens, and 1 video she made was a group of teenagers stealing cars and eventually killing a man on a motorcycle. The assaulter has maintained a good relationship with OP's family even AFTER OP told them what they did. Speaking up once could very well make any SA survivor feel more vulnerable, and lead to further psychological and emotional anguish. To think of trying to speak up a second time after the way it went the first time in OP's experience is an extremely stressful thought to say the least. They could be afraid to lose the remaining support they have in their life. Unfortunately, the people who should be supportive don't always play their role well in the lives of others.

I think probably the most shocking part of this story (so far) is how the court treated this poor girl after knowing the extent of the crime. At 8 years old after already being brutalized you don’t even have the government who’s supposed to ‘protect’ you on your side, that is heartbreaking. Imagine how alone this girl felt being made to sit there with her fresh injuries. She’s abused by this stranger and now the system that’s supposed to protect her is adding to the trauma.

I'm not quiet surprised. If you use your critical thinking and see the video where Stephanie talks how important the entrance exam to college is. It is so much that even if professors SA and the victim accused him, mothers, and students demand the government to release him cuz otherwise the prepared entrance exam, for months, would take longer cuz they will need to prepare it. When then you hear that the government decided to offer scholarships to the young generation since their academic education so to the ground, but then decided to onoy approve the scholarships for those who could get high scores a,a those who could afford to prepare for the exams and is how it started and continued until the present. Remember how students and parents and the whole nation attitude towards it and the excuses that will find just to keep the exam intact. Yeah I'm not surprised

A serial grapist in Sweden, Niklas Lindgren, called ”Hagamannen” (The Haga Man, named so after Haga in the city Umeå, where he attacked his first victims) brutally SA’d 5 women and one young girl between 1998-2000, and after a few years break, in 2005, he attacked his 7th victim after which he got caught. Two women was so brutally attacked that they nearly died. For the grapes and attempted unalivings, he got sentenced to 14 years in prison and was released after 9 years on good behaviour. Absolutely insane!

As a woman, I would not be safe in South Korea, no matter what the government says, after everything in this case it's hard to believe they would protect anyone. The laws against perpetrators of crime against women and children are so laxed, in comparison with others. The main deterrence against crime is punishment, no matter what people say, and the law in South Korea have shown sex offenders that there is nothing to fear. It's hard enough even with longer sentences, and not saying that south Korea is in any way unique in its treatment of women, i am from London and for the past 3 years our police have been in the headlines for the way they treat women, but the laws in south Korea make no sense.

Until you got to the moment she had to meet with the prosecutor being in the pain she was in, her life has changed forever and it for 12 years. He gets more support financially and protection than she has ever received. What does this say about the daughters of South Korea?! Please citizens of Korea…. @tortureddummies1672 South Korea urbanized and westernized very quickly. Their government still has a lot of catching up to do. Their laws with breaking into someone's home are also a great example (in addition to this case) of some of the holes that their justice system has. They tend to protect the perpetrators even if it isn't the intention. If you think money and power does a lot in the States, South Korea is worse in not all but many ways. Connections can get you anywhere in Korea. I love Korea and enjoy visiting with my fiance. Their culture is awesome. If you watch other of Stephanie's videos on Korea like the Seowol (probably spelled wrong) Ferry or Itewon case, you will see the weakness of their government when it comes to getting justice for families. These cases are not old. South Korea will catch up in this area, I have no doubt. Just not in my future children's childhood.

I’m half Korean and lived in Korea my entire life and absolutely love here but I couldn’t be more disappointed than I am right now. People say korea is one of the safest country but all I hear from my mom is cases similar to this. Even a few months ago there was a case near where I live where a 20 year old girl got graped and murdered just because the murderer thought she looked at him weirdly (they’re complete strangers) and there had been stabbing cases AND there was one where the “stabbers” said they were going to stab people near where I live and I was so scared to even step out of my house and when I did my friends and I was holding hands the entire time and looked around just in case. This is honestly so fucked up.

When I was 15 years one man raped 7 years old I am 27 now and he is still in prison. He was sentenced to 155 years in prison and he is in massive prison. The victim won't be able to have kids and had kidney failure also cos of the assault.
