An 11 year old Japanese girl (Rika) survived the crash and so did her mom (Shigeko). Her mom was seriously injured and was trapped from luggage piled on her. Unable to free herself, Shigeko told Rika to leave as she wasn't trapped. Shigeko died in the flames. Rika found a surviving flight attendant they stayed until rescue. Rika was released from Hospital the day after andwas reunited with her father, Tatsuo Matsuda where they flew back to Japan.

I feel bad for all passengers and crews. These crews tried to do their best and they failed. 😟 But I'm relieved that 23 passengers and 3 crews survived while rest of the passengers and crew died.

Actually 26 survived initially there was one person who was trapped under luggage and died in the flames so there were actually 25 survivors

As it turns out, the airport where they were going to land had glide slope that was down for maintenance, meaning that the pilots would have to land the plane without technical assistance. Somehow the glide slope came online and without question it, the pilots used it to guide them to the runway. But instead they wound up in a field where the plane crashed and burned. RIP to all the victims of this tragedy.
