I love how the Honolulu aerodrome is open to the elements. I first went there in 1958 when a young lad, travelling on a Qantas Lockheed Constellation (the one with the three tails). I have been back many times since (on jet aircraft 🤗) Hoping to go again of course! Hehehe.
@well-blazeredman618711 ай бұрын
How comfortable was that flight?
@dlanodsknib11 ай бұрын
@@well-blazeredman6187 You have to remember that the fuselage was much narrower and smaller than today's aircraft. We travelled First Class, which meant two chairs on either side of the aisle. These where quite comfortable and reclined a little - but no flat beds. 😕Also, with four propellers, it was very noisy. The food and service was excellent - and so it should have been as the fares were astronomical. It was about 18 hours or more to travel from Honolulu to Melbourne, with a refuel stop in Nadi, Fiji. On our run we ran into a headwind or something and ran out of fuel necessitating us coming down on Johnston Island, a small attol in the Pacific. The Yanks had bult a landing strip there during the war. The locals hopped up on the wings and poured the fuel in from kerosene cans! In the 50s I travelled extensively on these aeroplanes and they were a good machine.

Yep - what lovely stewardesses this airline has. Hard to fault that flight. P.S. I'm thinking that 'Embrace' would make for the perfect boarding-music for some airline. It would certainly soothe the evil thoughts I have about fellow passengers blocking the aisles.

It is and important thing to remember if you are flying on a route that has KE🇰🇷 CX🇭🇰 BR CI🇹🇼 JL NH🇯🇵 and PR🇵🇭 do operate in take the airlines from South Korea Hong Kong Taiwan and Japan over Philippine airlines that way you avoid the cramped 29in Fiesta Class seat on B777-300er
@EpicThe11211 ай бұрын
Well done Jayden and for the Korean Air Economy Class they are on top of the economy class seats due to their wide legroom of 34 in. which makes them 5 in wider than a PR Fiesta class seat. Regarding the Korean Air Lounges, I used their JFK lounge back in December 2006 and enjoyed it but lost out to ICN KE lounge the old Terminal 1 and also CX the Pier lounge from my experience. Your aeroplane had Prestige Sleeper seats 4:08-4:09 instead of the Prestige Class Suites Collins Serenity model. Need to try Prestige Sleeper seats since they go completely flat like a CX Safran cirrus seat over the old Prestige Plus seat which is on an angle. 8:31 going to use it for Kdrama and K-pop my favourite foreign music. 10:09 That might be a Kimchi on the top left bowl to its right Korean pears and peaches. Knew this since your meal is the same one as my mum's on KE085 January 2007

Korean Air looks amazing with the 5-star meal and very professional crew onboard, although imo the B777 looks quite outdated because the IFE isn't responsive and I think the seat looks old as well. But apart from that, indeed the back support is a problem for KE as it decrease the comfort of passengers despite the good config. of seat. I didn't expect that Korean Air has their own lounge in Honolulu, but it looks quite tiny and there's not enough seat, I hope that at least they can improve the lounge a bit. It's also nice to see that the cabin crew is really well-engaged to passengers especially those who held the frequent flyer status such as the Skyteam Elite Plus or the KE member. Great trip report Jayden, will wait for ur next report (hopefully Garuda 😄).

How did you like that and it's super better than taking the direct flight PR101 to MNL. Very helpful if you are going to the provinces OZ HNL-ICN then CRK OZ707/708 for Abucay Bataan🇵🇭 OZ703/704 if you live around Manila Cebu OZ709/710. Honest question. Does flying long haul every week make you feel unwell? It's not a healthy environment.
@JaydenWong11 ай бұрын
well I don't actually fly every week. Let's say I'm going from Australia to England tomorrow. One week trip with a stopover in Hong Kong. So that'd be four flights all together = four weeks of content in just one trip. I actually fly a lot less than what it seems haha. Nonetheless, I do fly a lot in economy class within a short period of time, like this particular trip for example. Three long haul economy in one go. I make sure I feel great throughout and after the trip by wearing comfortably, eat and drink healthy (less alcohol, less meat & more plant food, more water). I've received several negative and rude comments when I select plant-based meals onboard, but hey, health over comments made by small potatoes! Thus, in general, I never feel unwell or jet lagged :)

22:45, How much did you pay to take the train to Takamatsu?
@JaydenWong11 ай бұрын
quite expensive actually, could've flown Jetstar via Narita cheaper but too much hassle. about 8000-10000 yen on the bullet train alone, the trains from Kansai to Shin-Osaka, and Okayama to Takamatsu probably less than 1000 together. I can't really remember.

Wow that's expensive. Okay I see.

Is it possible that the temple is actually a castle? The architecture and color suggest it.
