HOOAH! I was married to a Korean woman for 23 years RIP. She always mixed the Kimchi by hand and it was great stuff. I so miss her and her cooking.

My very first video cooking demonstration! (***Squeal***) {How to make Korean cubed radish Kimchi - 깍두기} ★ Don't forget to subscribe to my KZbin channel for future videos! ★ bit.ly/1ejuPKO I wanted to share this video last week along with my recipe post, but it took a long time to edit and work around KZbin as we are new to this thing. Enjoy! :) #KoreanFood

Great job! Nice music and I really appreciate the recipe card graphic near the beginning. I don't have a printer, so I like knowing I can watch the demo, hit replay and pause on the recipe card to write down the ingredients & qty. Really, this is pretty impressive for video

Awesome video, congratulations! Can I use brown rice flour to make the rice porridge? Actually can I skip the porridge part? Thank you.
@MyKoreanKitchen8 жыл бұрын
+Tho bas Yes, you can use the brown rice flour. Also I think you can skip the porridge part. However, rice flour is used to make the Kimchi base stickier so that it holds onto the radish well. Also it is used as a bait for probiotics. (Apparently, this helps them to breed well and Kimchi with more probiotics tastes best!) :)
@ta777gi8 жыл бұрын
I see now. I definitely want more probiotics in my kimchi so I will use the rice porridge. Thank you very much :-))

Is it 4 Tbs gochugaru like in the recipe or 2 like in Video?
@MyKoreanKitchen6 жыл бұрын
The recipe used 4 Tbsp gochugaru all together. But 2 Tbsp went in in step 2 and the remainder 2 Tbsp in step 4 (if you read my recipe from my website you will know what I mean). Does it make sense? I explained the reason in the recipe too.
@kfm12426 жыл бұрын
i unterstood it. I used only 2Tb and it's really good. Thank you

Is is possible to use something else than fish sause to make it vegetarian?
@MyKoreanKitchen7 жыл бұрын
+zaprude Some people use this type of vegetarian/vegan fish sauce amzn.to/2uDrhxb. Or replace it with soy sauce. (Though I would think the depth of flavour would lack with this option.) Hope this helps! :)
@zaprude7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Didn't even know that vegan fish sauce existed :)

I accidentally brought fine hot pepper flakes instead of course is that okay?
@MyKoreanKitchen8 жыл бұрын
+marisina Shikiko Fine pepper flakes are tends to be a lot spicier than coarse ones. If you want to continue with it, you will have to adjust the amount.
