I've been to San Juan but I don't prefer it's beach since the waves are too strong, not suitable for swimming but for surfing. If you're into partying or nightlife, it might be for you. During the time we went there last April, we were strolling around 8pm and saw a long queue of people along the roadside. We asked a trike driver and turns out people were lining up to go inside Flotsam Jetsam. Glad you enjoyed your vacation. Your family is good with socializing with other people.

Sometimes hardships like being bullied push us to excel in certain facets of our lives thus making us stronger and more sympathetic to other people needs. In short, making us better people than the once that bullied us😉 I sympathize with your plight because I moved to Canada from the Philippines when I was 6 years old and I experienced the same thing🙏🏼

I was bullied as well from elementary all the way to college but Filipino bullies are less vicious than Korean or even American bullies who seek out to physically hurt a person. Filipino bullies just tend to ignore you and not let you in on their group. P.S. I think kids and even adults who bully got it from their parents. There are some people who are just born bad. It’s part of their DNA. They inherit it from their parents or ancestors.

I admit that I was a bully when I was young. I formed a clique and we made fun of people based on trivial things, not just race or physical appearance, but any flaw that I could find in others. Like any other bully's reasoning who later realize their mistakes, I just thought it was fun and that it lightens up the school life experience. But then, there came a time when I was the one being bullied, especially when I transferred schools, and boy did it feel like a huge karma that hit me. And just like Kristy, I should say that having this childhood experience would make anyone stronger and a survivor later in life. I don't condone bullying, but I would say that I am amused at how much changes I've made to become who I am now because of who I was back then.

I agree with your Mom, although you feel that it was bullying but the way you tell your story it's clear that was a racism they treat you as an outcast because your different & you can't communicate them very well. But again we're immature during Elementary days and I believe they change now the way we also change ourselves, but some of them remain the same and without the proper guidance of parents they tend to be worst haha..

I was from La Union too, but then I moved to Baguio City when I was 6 yrs old (2006) until today. When I was 10 I moved to Saudi Arabia and went to a PH school there. I was a transferee and I think I was being bullied :( not physically, but they spread bad rumors about me (very toxic vibes from that school). I'm glad I only lasted there for 6 months and I moved to an American int school. TBH they treated me way better there. My foreigner classmates were very welcoming unlike my kapwa filipinos :( and that made me really sad thinking about it.

You know what, back in the days, some sort of bullying (teasing and no physical contact) was just normal in the Philippines, children/students have to learn how to fight back, control emotions and just let bullies do their thing. But I think these things made Filipino kids back then, stronger and resilient and not get too depressed later on in life. It is just now that bullying is so highlighted and i think the severity now is so shameful because of the social media. Bullying in the US is greatly different in the Philippines i guess just like we saw in the movies.
@createinmeacleanheartohgod68712 жыл бұрын
That's correct to some degree. But what if the bullied kids are from a very disadvantaged families who feel they can't fight back? It will lose the kids' self esteem and confidence and bullying would most likely have them stop going to school because of stigma out of bullying. No matter how tough as person is, bullying could still leave a lasting mark in one's life.
@createinmeacleanheartohgod68712 жыл бұрын
In short, it is very traumatic to a bullied kid. Although, there is an Asian belief that being bullied can turn you into a fighter and stronger, but what if a child is already broken and weak, bullying can even make them even more vulnerable to failure.
@impulsiveurge58372 жыл бұрын
Stop victim blaming. Bullying is wrong period. No need to justify na you have to fight back. In the first place hindi ka dapat nagfa fight back kasi hindi naman dapat binubully.
@girlfromthepast22332 жыл бұрын
@@impulsiveurge5837 im not victim blaming here!!!! I just stated what I observe before compared these days.
@girlfromthepast22332 жыл бұрын
@@createinmeacleanheartohgod6871 yes really correct in some degree bcoz that’s what i observe!!!! Now it’s a different story. Some kids are sensitive, parents tends to solve their “kids” problems rather let the kids navigate through their feelings instead they put so much negativity on the situation. The severity and frequency of bullying is astronomical and shameful bcos of social media.

In my opinion, that's not bullying (in its usual context) bec no one physically harmed you but yeah mentall it was. Pero mas malala sa amin when we were kids. I myself experienced it pero never thought it was bullying na pala until I got older. Ung tawagin ka ng diff names ng mga classmates mo, masakit kaya nakakapikon pero dahil you want to fit in and have many friends, makiki-join ka na lang. Eventually, I became one pero hindi ko rin natagalan kasi nakaka-guilty. Parang sinabi ko lang sa sarili ko na in order for me na makaalis sa position na un, I also want other to experience what I experienced. TOTALLY WRONG. Yea, hindi ako maganda nad sexy pero hindi dapat maging tampulan ng mga biro un. All the while I thought biro lang pero hanggang sa paglaki at pagtanda mo pala, madadala mo ung trauma na un. Now, if I here people I know say something na hindi maganda, I tell them to keep it to themselves na lang. Don't make people feel inferior sa mga insults na hindi nila alam eh babalik din sa kanila.

Kids were probably just making fun out of anything. I'm not sure it's personal at that age. I remember going to school and no one will play with me during recess. As soon as I got my first basketball, most kids came running to play with me, since I'm the only kid that has one. Not to mention, I actually were better than all of them as a player. Since then, plenty of friends all the way to high school.
