Veigarv2 has a video talking about why he thought fimbulwinter was the best mana item on Veigar. His reasons were the Hp and Mana it gives for it's really cheap cost, are perfect for Veigar. He even said hitting your cage and getting the passive is just a nice bonus. If you really don't like it, I could even see sitting on tear to get 600 mana (Same as other mana items) so that you can build stuff like Liandries, Rylais

i use this build when theres no tank in the team, it solves my mana issue and hp scaling and anti kitting, i start with tears, finished liandrys, rylais then fimble after that i can build HG if needs to survive or damage items

I am not a fan of fimbulwinter on Swain because it means you lose the unique passive if you miss your root and I think that makes it unreliable

I was pretty sceptical at first but after playing games with it, I can say with confidence that the shield passive is a nice bonus but the primary reason you buy it is for the crapton of health and mana you get dirtcheap, dunno if it's optimal but it's really oppressive when you come in at 3k hp min 13.

Its an interesting build especially if you go filbulwinter second item, very cheap build and allowes you to scale the heal based on your bonus health. The dmg is not super high in mid/late but maybe gives you more resistance to the burst of early/mid game champs

I tried this. My favourate is still malignance- hourglass second then everything can go flexible later. There are some camps that you dont need hourglass and you are supposed to build tanky item, in that situation this build is strong. Also in very few games that I don't have difficulty surviving in fights and they have multiple shor ranges I just build blackfire torch and liandry second.

I like fimbul swain but i go all the way in - start tear ROA into fimbul crazy mana value, play conq triumph legend haste last stand with manaflow transcendance. After fimbul it's rylais and either full tank or ap but with resists/hp items

I feel like you can easily change rylais for cosmic drive even tho it costs more. Also going frozen heart third its also a must where with 3 items you have 60 AH (and i also recommend going both transcendence and legend haste and cdr in minor runes for an extra 33AH).

If you go frozen heart 3rd you will have no damage, so I'd only do this is the team NEEDS a tank dealing heavy CC on low cooldown.

Fimbulwinter is of course very underrated item, but only the melee champions with an access to slows get its full value. I think Swain can used its health bonus better in conjunction with Riftmaker.

Husum I cooked a build for you to try similar to this one 14k gold you are full build Runes Conq page with triumph Mana flow and transcendence Rylai, fimbul, frozen(or unending), roa, spirit. You legit have unlimited haste and mana feels really good and giga healing

for me (low elo) pom is useful through all stages of the game. unless you have RoA or bluebuff you will go oom in fights. I'm talking demon time ults where you q constantly

@@kasipasun9981 The heal from triumph is nice + the extra gold you get from fights and W's across map for assist quickly stacks up in soloq. pom feels nice if fights are very long or you dont build a lot of mana, but both options are really good anyways so mostly comes down to personal preference

Yeah or cosmic but rylais fimbul is dirt cheap making it reliable for mid game fights. The scaling tends to be kinda shit but you can still build liandries or riftmaker later so your DMG doesn't fall off too much.

I only see a 9/1 swain who cannot provide enough dmg to the teamfight on its own. Surely a good build for falling behind, but if you are ahead, this build seems like a waste.

Why not use a magic comet ? Additional runes would be a bonus to health regeneration when killing and skill acceleration The first hand could be "torch of dark fire", then Rilai, then Liandria, then something ga defense Damage, stats, and defense would generally be sufficient. Mana will be a problem, but if you don't have very long battles, it will be enough.
