@qamar10413 жыл бұрын
@NeonEyes Yeah because we worked for our representation. It was only some 80 years ago that black people were portrayed as stereotypical lazy people by white actors in blackface. Also to mention Asia has 3 major film and media industries so they dont really need representation in a foreign country when they have South east asian soap opera industry, Japans anime industry, Korean drama industry and Bollywood. While black people have no major industry except America to find black actors in.
@qamar10413 жыл бұрын
@NeonEyes Uhm? Did you even read throughly? Yes black Americans had to fight for proper representation. Black Americans were portrayed in multiple movies as cold blooded savages with no humanity. And we were mocked by white media. I have not said every white person got everything handed to them. I’m just saying black Americans had to fight ten times as hard for it. I can give you a list of blackface comedies and satire revolving the black race. Also black Americans fought for rights for 300 years, contrary to Asian Americans who just arrived in America’s in the early 1900s. Not sure what you’re getting at, I already acknowledged that asian Americans were wrongfully caricatured. You’re saying black Americans weren’t oppressed as if their ancestors didn’t have basic human rights before the 1960s and lived in slavery for 300 years.
