November 11th is also known as Remembrance Day in Canada and UK in case you did not know. Which is also a day of honouring and remembering those who served, lost their lives or continue to serve!

November 11th is also a day that is used to remember veterens and wars in a few different countries. In Canada it's known as "Remembrance Day". It's also known as Armistice Day. The day was chosen because it was the day the Allies signed an Armistice, a formal agreement to cease all military operations in conflict permanently, with the opponent Germany during the first world war 1914-1918

Seeing this video makes me so happy and sad, I know how the families of the soldiers feel, my older brother has been in the military for 6-7 years and in that time I have seen him 3 times, when he comes home it’s like my world is complete again. He is my hero. I can’t wait to see his smile again and to show him everything he has missed.

This was harder for me to watch than I expected. My husband was in the marines and the navy. Last deployment was 2010-2011. Today is the marines birthday. Happy birthday to any and all devil dogs. And a very happy Veterans Day to all who serve, and all who support and love them. Thank you. ❤️

I've been on both sides of this. When I was a kid, sometimes my dad would TDY for months at a time. It was always an emotional goodbye and hello. Then, when I was in the Navy, my submarine would be out sometimes as long as four months. I missed so many Mother's Days, Father's Days, Christmas, my daughter's sweet 16 celebration, etc. There was a Pearl Jam song that said, "I wish I was a sailor with someone who waited for me." I was, but sometimes I wish I wasn't.

You definitely got me. I cried. lol By the way, the last girl had SF on her uniform which means Special Forces (I'm pretty sure). Since many are "elite" status, they are most likely to see combat. So I'm sure it was even more frightening for her family while she was away.
@_EvilDireWolf2 жыл бұрын
The SF stands for Security Force in the Air Force. The Special Forces patch usually say airborne, sometimes it say Special Forces, above a long leaf with a sword and three lighting bolts going through it.

The doll that the baby had of her dad is pretty common when parents are away and they have young children. I have one of my dad when he was still in the ARMY before he retired and my mom surprised me one day by bringing him home and I was about 6 or 7 and I don't think I've cried that much as a baby because I never knew what was going on and all I knew was that my dad had to go away for a while and then come back. I don't have the best relationship with him now but I'm glad I had those moments with him while I was a lot younger.

As a person who served as a U.S. Marine, i love watching these videos. Our first enlistments are typically 3-5 years Active Duty (living on or around base) and are deployable even if we're in a non deploying unit. Full contract is 8 years so 3-5 yrs active or inactive reserves. Its a bit like being a Kpop idle, work 10-18 hours, individual work out or Squadron/platoon training 1- 6 hours, 1 hour chow (food). You are on call 24/7, 365. So when you finally get to come home "on leave" it's just for a week or 2 a year it means a lot.

I work in another country and haven't seen my parents in 4 years, I will be flying back home this weekend. but now, I will be separated from my boyfriend of 9 years, my 6year old puppy, two 3year old puppies, and a 6year old cat. (basically leaving from a place I live for 10years) with this pandemic going on, I'm not sure when we could see each other again...or whether we could ever at all.

I'll share my own story. January 2012, our son was born and my unit deployed to Afghanistan. I was able to stay back for a bit since he was our first child. In March, I left while he was a little over a month old and watched him grow up through Skype. Fast forward to October when I came home for R&R and I got to hold him for the first time in months. Of course since he didn't see me for a while, he cried for a bit. He got used to me the 2 weeks I was home, then I had to leave again. When we came back in January, it was the same thing all over again, but that was fine. Another heartbreaker was when I went to Korea for a hardship tour, mostly because we also had our daughter as well. What I wish we would've filmed is when I came back after a year and surprised our daughter who was at home, and our son when I picked him up from school.

I used to be a military partner some years ago so I was emotionally prepared for most of these, but the kids will get me every single time. Kid overflowing with emotion to see their parent/sibling? Tear jerker. A parent seeing their baby for the first time after having to miss the birth due to deployment? Forget it, just lock me in a tissue factory.
