I'm rewatching Lessons 9 and 10 and I realized I didn't really know the difference between subject/topic markers. Of course when I search up the differences, your video comes up! Thank you so much for being so thorough.

Thank you for this explanation. So easy to understand and clear. Especially 제가. I never heard this explanation before and you cleared up this mystery. ❤

I also noticed something in your examples that makes more sense (I learned all this stuff years ago but your explanation is better). Thinking of "subordinate clauses" really helps not only for the topic marker, but for the entire phrase. Ironically the phrases can end with the verb getting a 는 on the end of it as well, but that's getting off topic (pun intended.)

"가(ga)" and "が(ga)" are pronounced almost the same, and their usage is generally similar. Considering "가" began to be used relatively recently among Korean people, it is possible that it was borrowed from the Japanese "が" after the war between Joseon and The Sengoku period Japan (壬辰倭亂 or 朝鮮出兵)

For the examples “이 가방은 디자인이 줗아요” and 이 책은 재미있어요”. The 이 at the beginning of the sentence is not a topic marking particle is it?

Right, it's not. That 이 means "this."

Right. In this case, 이 means "this."
