Same here. Watching that tooth removal just now made so anxious I covered my eyes as it happened. And yet somehow as a kid nothing gnarly ever horrified me. I even laughed during the D-Day scene of Saving Private Ryan when a guy picked up his detached arm because somehow it looked goofy to me. It's like I've desensitised in reverse.

I used to watch Jackass with my grandma back when it aired (She called it "Those really dumb guys who do really dumb stuff") And she was always was so disgusted yet so entertained, as if she was ashamed of enjoying it, So it kinda became one of "our" things to do, I miss her a lot and sometimes I remember her laughter when watching this show.

My brothers would watch this religiously, and so I ended up watching all of the episodes. And I have to say, if you gave me the choice of doing this for my job and getting paid way more than I get paid now, or just going to work at my regular job at my regular pay, I would totally pick the first one, stupid and dangerous as those things are. Also, since my brothers were obsessed, we watched the DVD with the bonus features, featuring the stunts they did that they deemed too much for television, like one where someone wore a stinging jellyfish as a hat, or the one where Steve-O got his butthole pierced. 😳

He kept hiring different nurses to come take care of him in his hotel rooms, but none knew how bad it was getting until one finally said "you need to be in the hospital, immediately." Stupid bets or dares that end badly (most likely when drunk or bored) are not regularly caught on tape or "planned" to be executed like in Jackass. The reason it is considered funny is because they are all in on the joke. There have been a couple of times when they went too far and not everyone was in on the joke at those points it stopped being funny. Like the time they dropped Bam into a snake pit. He has a legit phobia of snakes so it wasn't fun and they admitted that they went to far with that one.
