Everyone is saying that $100 a month is expensive... In Canada, I spend about $75 every week and a half on groceries! I mean...$3 for those eggs!!! Eggs here are about $5-7 for a dozen.
@musicalala8 жыл бұрын
Amy Merritt I live in Vancouver and just wanted to mention that I believe she is American so her reference to $1 is in US funds which is $1.26CDN depending on how our money is trending. She mentions in her notes that she only eats at home occasionally. So her $85US doesn't go that far really. def not a month worth of groceries if you eat at home most of the time. Our food in Canada is roughly 35%cheaper on avg. based on price per item with exception of eggs which you mentioned.

I spend $25 every month... Ya'll come to Sweden if you're poor istg $25 is enough for yourself. Buy clothes, buy snacks and gifts for your friends birthday for only 25 fkn $ ;-; + Free school, no tuition fees and Sweden have one of the best education. High school you're given around $200 sometimes + $300 if you're a good kid every month until you graduate. Like they're paying you to come to school and you choose to do nothing but just sit in class they still give your damn money. + You don't pay tuition fees in high school either. Oh god what i love Sweden :)

@michaelgumina176 жыл бұрын
You can get more food for cheaper if you shop at a 시장(U.S. equivalent to a farmers market, but less expensive). Also, a lot of the foods she bought were prepackaged or need to be imported into Korea, which causes them to be more expensive. For example, the bananas are from South America so they will be more expensive because of import tax, however, if you buy bananas local to Asia, it will be cheaper.

@9:48 soft tofu is for "soon dubu soup" 순두부찌게 and usually packaged in a plastic tube. Hard tofu is for frying (부침용) and there is a medium kind.... and it's for any kind of soup(찌게용). the one you are holding, you can use it for both frying and soup......without any label, you can just assume that it's for both frying and soup. search the word "dubu jorim recipes" on youtube. it's delicious

In the Uk we just call them peppers. In Australia (where I now live) they're capsicum. I also only learnt about a year ago that red, green & yellow peppers are all the same pepper just at different stages of ripeness (which gives them their difference in sweetness!)

I recommend that you go the nearest wet and dry market for your fruits, veggies and meat. It is so much cheaper plus guaranteed that it is fresh and you're actually helping farmers/butchers in your purchase instead of owners of big conglomerates like Lotte who I think doesn't really help their workers considering the amount of pay they give to their employees.

Taylor Bro ! All of it Except meat and seafood, the non vegetarian stuff those $100 are INCLUSIVE of fruits, a variety of vegetables, milk, juice... everything. A bundle of spinach costs only $0.23- $0.39 & a kg of potatoes would be for a maximum of $0.60

A lot of dry seaweeds and you get in the hot side on the food balance :P You bought a lot of pantry food, only the milk was a fresh perishable item. $100 only last me as much as 5 days here in NY, and that is because I don't cook and only go for take outs :( If you want to keep the potatoes and carrots nice and fresh, take them out of the plastic bag and put them in a paper bag and at the bottom of your fridge. Is nice that you bought a big box of eggs but remember those have to stay inside the fridge to stay fresh longer.

So jealous of those prices. I pay over 2.00 for that package of pre-made curry, the cheapest I can get tofu is 1.79 per block, and the liver is just beyond a bargain. The same pack here would be 20.00 at least. Peanut butter is cheaper here though. I can get a jar that size for under 2.00 on sale. As for the tofu, make some kimchi jigae or just pan fry it and dip in a sauce made from soy sauce, sesame seeds, a bit of green onion, and sesame oil.
