So it's 아니에요 instead of 아니예요? I thought it was 예요. Am I wrong?

Yesss 아니에요 is the correct one. I know it's confusing, the spelling of this is so inconsistent, the positive one is ~예요/이에요, and the negative is ~ 아니에요 Hope that helps!

@@kyu2813 what about when it’s a reply to someone saying thank you like saying “it’s nothing”. Is it still 아니에요? Is there any context where it would ever be 아니예요?

Hmm... I think some people might pronounce it as 아니예요 but it's always formally written as 아니에요, at least to my knowledge, cuz the spell check will always underline it as a mistake otherwise. 🙂 But even many native speakers are confused and may write it as 아니예요, especially while chatting! 🙂
