Oh my goodness that's so NICE!! I like how short the quiver is and how easily the arrows clear the top when you pull them out. Very professional work and beautiful details. Thanks Armin! Good Sunday to you.

This is a traditional Korean quiver from the late period of Josun Dynasty. Korean quivers used to be a lot bigger than this (just like the Manchu quivers) in the early period but as the matchlock muskets became more popular and became mainstream, the Korean quiver became smaller and smaller with fewer arrow carry. The Korean bow also became smaller and smaller as time went. That is why this late period Korean quiver became so compact as it became a status symbol (usually worn by high ranking officers) as common soldiers began to carry matchlock muskets by this time. Another factor is that Korean archers in Josun Dynasty fought defensive wars usually from the castle tops and therefore had easier access to more arrows in the castle, whereas Manchurians fought offensive wars in a conquest of distant lands and therefore had to carry a lot more arrows with them riding on their horseback resulting in bigger quivers.

The "Korean video" bingo - "I don't shoot proper Korean style", "This is not a traditional, Korean horn bow" and similar :P These comments actually made me look into traditional Korean techniques and focus more on my training. Appreciate your videos and whole community, cheers ;)

There is zero room for equipment failures or malfunction or in Armin's words "fiddling" if I hadn't already ordered a quiver from the master of leatherwork Koszta Zoltán I would have been getting that one . It rates tops in all categories, well made and tough , very secure, ease of use ,fit , fast access to arrows, arrows come out smooth with no hang-up. This is probably the nicest quiver that's been reviewed here. Wanbyeoghan !!

That’s a great quiver, indeed! I like the leather belts as well! When I had ordered my korean quiver from Yeochang Yun, I should have asked for the belts, too 😁 Lesson learned! Thank you for the entertaining review! 😁🙏 Wish you a nice Sunday! 🏹🔆

The "eo" in Yeo is pronounced as a soft "u" as in luncheon, not like the "eo" in neon. The "ang" in Chang is pronounced like an "aw" as in saw - "Chawng". You got the "u" in Yun correct. It's pronounced the same as "oo" in moon. Hats off to you for showing us Yeo Chang's lovely work and to Yeo Chang for his devotion to recreating a part of the Joseon Kingdom's past.

I'm Korean subscriber. Someday, I want to see you use "애기살(in video, you saied 'baby arrow')" using "통아(Tong-A)". As you know, "애기살" was a secret weapon of Joseon that the enemy could not reuse arrows, had a long range, and was hard to see. I express my respect for your interest and passion for the bow.

I was wondering if this would work whilst riding a horse, just to see if the quiver wouldn’t slowly slide/move up your body or be in the way whilst doing shots where your upper body is turned. Also wondering if grabbing the arrows over the shoulder would be doable or efficient.
@ArminHirmer3 жыл бұрын
I think its great for horseback and when you place the quiver further back, you can grab the arrows over your shoulder, no problem

You have talked me into 2 bows now you talked me into a quiver your my go to for archery thank you! One question will broadheads this quiver?
@ArminHirmer3 жыл бұрын
thank you Brad. I think for broad heads one should replace the inserts with something like leather, so the blades will not get stuck. Maybe ask Yeochang if he has an idea

Question: do you have quiver recommendations for holding quite a lot of arrows? (Or quivers which can be placed next to each other, etc?) Because I have a large variety of targets and big area to use: it's nice to be able to put ~40-50 shots down before having to collect. Or more! Id love to hear recommendations!! 🙂 thanks! PS: the scythian bow you recommended about a year ago or so I bought, and it is the best bow I've ever used. THANK YOU SO MUCH! for that wonderful suggestion.

Soft big leather back quiver, with separation by simple strings through the top of the quiver. Soft quiver so dey don't rattle, strings can be leather as well, and you can as many separation as you want.
