Both 하면 and 한다면 are often translated as “if (you) do (something)” but what is the difference? Why is it that you get to see 한다면 in more poetic contexts? Find out why and how to use -(ㄴ/는)다면 in today’s video lesson with Hyunwoo.

I was once told by my Korean teacher that Korean grammar isn’t hard, it’s just a combination of very easy things. This is the perfect example. I never realized the whole abbreviation thing. That’s so smart.

it's similar with a lot of the "hard" languages I've found. there are some concepts that initially seem very odd or a higher amount of "different" things but there's usually some internal logic and with repeated immersive practice it starts to feel natural.

As a language student, I can honestly say that I have not come across any other materials like the lessons that you guys provide (even some of the stuff that I have been taught at university is not as clear as your lessons/pdfs) - you seriously blow all competition out of the water - you all deserve some big award ☺️Thanks for all your time and effort 😜

I always thought of the difference as "if" and "if + should". 한국으로 가면 - if/when I go to korea 한국으로 간다면 ㅡ if I should go to korea. I think my way of differentiating them are correct but I really enjoyed the deeper and full explanation so it was very interesting to me anyway.

What I really love about you guys is that you explain things not only IN context, but around context as well. It's one thing to say, "this means this". It's another thing to say "in THIS context, it means this". But even further, you guys explain the evolution of the concepts and ideas which really, REALLY ingrain the concept/idea into my head. There is so much detail in small bits of Korean this really helps to make everything make sense.

Really loved this episode! (Well, I love a lot of your videos!) Korean is the very first language that I learned completely from scratch through my own efforts, and I have Talk to Me in Korean to thank for that! Seriously, I'm teaching myself a bunch of different languages, but Talk to Me in Korean is in my opinion one of the best language learning resources out there. Interesting, high-quality, and informative, Talk to Me in Korean videos and books have helped me get to a level where I am almost able to watch a Korean show without subtitles. I'll keep watching and buying your books so that I can get to fluency! Many, many thanks!
