Korean spicy garlic shrimp, jjajangmyeon noodles at this Korean/ Chinese restaurant inside Hmart

I worked at a Korean bank right across the H-Mart two decades ago & that's what introduced me to Korean food & culture. Now the Korean/Chinese fusion food is debatably my FAV food in the entire world, seriously. That fried garlic shrimp looks BEYOND. They also have thier own rendition of General Tso chicken (which is sweeter) that blows the typical General Tso OUT the water!! It's THAT good, i believe it's called "Tan-zoo-yew".

Tangsuyuk* it’s more like a Korean version of sweet & sour, usually pork but can be with chicken too. I’m Korean and Korean Chinese food is absolutely my favorite cuisine in the world!

I’m Korean. Born in Seoul and moved to the states when I was a kid. This was my comfort food growing up near Koreatown in LA. At the time, I had no idea if this food was Korean, Chinese or Italian but I just knew it was damn good. Straight up some of the tastiest, flavorful, most decadent food in the whole damn world. This is last meal type of goodness. Get out there and find some legit ChaJiang Mein and KamPoong shrimp near you.

You are right that larger Korean supermarkets normally have a hidden gem food court. The deep fried dish is TANGSUYUK. It is traditionally made with pork and not spicy. It is sweet and sour, but not extremely sweet like many American Chinese dishes. I think what you ate in the Jajangmyun is radish (not potato). JL you really get Korean food - thanks for your support.

I shopped in H-Mart in North Jersey for years when they first opened, and I still shop in the one in Hicksville on Long Island these days, but neither one of them have food courts like this. Makin' me jealous with just those two dishes, and I'm bettin' there's a lot more there. Glad you shared this video, I might have ta move to PA. Lol.

I'd never hard of this place before JL did this video. I decided to try it out, and I can confirm- the sweet and sour spicy fried shrimp is the bomb. I thought it was pricy for the small size ($19) but they give you a TON of shrimp and it's fresh, not like the frozen ones you get at most Chinese joints. For one person like me, it's enough shrimp for two meals. Great call JL!

Next time you are there, go to the restaurant all the way to the left and get the Cold Chewy Spicy Noodles (Jjolmyeon ). Trust me. Best in warm weather but they are excellent.
