My small tip for wearing sunscreens that have a moisturiser-like texture is that, unless you have dry skin, just put on LESS moisturiser (and/or skip some other steps like serum or emulsion). If you have oily skin or live in a humid/warm environment, you could potentially skip moisturiser altogether and just use sunscreen as daytime moisturiser.
@albagarciaa4 жыл бұрын
JLhannah24 exactly. My skin is combo with a VERY oily forehead and drier cheeks, and I use Purito as a moisturiser. Sometimes on it’s owns, other times I layer it on top of a hydrating essence, but unless you have very dry skin, you shouldn’t really need a moisturiser underneath.

mineral sunscreens form a barrier on top of the skin to reflect the UV rays. chemical sunscreens penetrate the skin and absorb the UV rays and the filters damage the harmful rays before they attack the skin. chemical sunscreens are usually more sensitizing and also have been researched to be harmful against coral reefs. i prefer mineral sunscreens
@triciaerica134 жыл бұрын
@@wyattsmith9626 yes definitely with American chemical sunscreens. I dont believe that applies with korean sunscreens for example. Our chemical sunscreens are sadly outdated :(
@angeleahcowart1264 жыл бұрын
Wyatt Smith Believe it or not, zinc oxide(which is the what most physical sunscreens use)has been shown to be almost as toxic,if not as toxic, as oxybenzone, octinoxate, enzacamene (4-MBC) to the coral reefs. Those four ingredients have the most studies showing that they’re harmful,even in low amounts. Other chemical filters like octocrylene, octisalate, avobenzone, octyl triazone (Uvinul T), ecamsule (Mexoryl SX, drometrizole trisiloxane (Mexoryl XL), titanium dioxide have been shown to have little or no effect on coral reefs, and some ingredients like bemotrizinol (Tinosorb S), bisoctrizole (Tinosorb M), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (Uvinul A Plus), ensulizole, homosalate just haven’t been studied enough to know if they’re harmful or not. And keep in mind that while the four ingredients we know are harmful like oxybenzone or zinc oxide,all of these ingredients can be harmful to reefs in large amounts,and considering hundreds of thousands people visit the beach every day and millions of tons of sunscreen wash into the ocean every year,all of these ingredients are probably harming the reefs. That’s why the best way to protect them is to wear UV protecting clothing when you swim that covers most of your body(like a surf suit)and just wear a sunscreen on your face that doesn’t contain the ingredients we know are harmful. That’s why “reef safe” sunscreen isn’t really a thing, because almost all sunscreen ingredients can be harmful at large amounts.

I have used essence sun milk after rave reviews on this channel that's it's good for sensitive skin. The product has been very bad for my skin causing rashes and burning. This isnt the first product recommended from this channel that has been claimed to be suitable for sensitive skin and has caused extreme discomfort and burning. As a consumer I was initially very excited that this channel could provide expert knowledge for general public but have been disappointed that several products recommended for sensitive skin have caused bad reaction on my skin. I'm sharing this so there is balanced review of this channel with good and bad reviews. Thanks.
@ShiiFT124 жыл бұрын
No matter how similar your skin type might seem to be to another person's, it doesn't mean your skin will react the same to an ingredient/product. That's no fault of someone who recommended the product. It worked for their skin and they think it might work for another's but the one who's looking into buying it has to go do more research on how others reacted to it, and even then you'll see great reviews and negative reviews, so you won't know for sure till you patch test it yourself. Whether a product will work or not is a 50/50 chance

Definitely the Biore Wattery Essence is better than the gel. It’s much lighter and has the lightest feel of all the sunscreens I’ve ever tried.

My favorite is Labno mineral sunscreens! The ingredients are safe, and their foundation cushions are even peg free!

Hi Sunsan! Can u do a video of your opinion regarding the purito sunscreens scandal that is happening currently.

The missha one is amazing in texture I agree! But beware if you have contacts or sensitive eyes, which I do so i have started using it on my neck and chest and it’s amazing for that!

Can you please make a video on blackheads-what products you can recommend a cleanser for this? I'm so overwhelmed- so much information.

Ugh I really wanted to try the Missha Essence sun milk but it charges like 70USD+ to ship to Canada which would be 100$ for just a 30$ product

I tried the Missha - I had NO IDEA a product like this existed! I thought they were all stinky and greasy. Now I can protect my skin and not feel like a grease ball!!

I tried that Missha one and the consistency was amazing but the fragrance was INTENSE and it never faded at all. So if you don't like fragrance, or even if you're blasé about it, I'd give the Missha one a pass.

Psyched for this video!! I have recently jumped on the Korean skincare bandwagon and loving everything so far!! I do want to try others, so it is nice you uploaded this because I can expect your honest opinion and what ingredients are in them 😃

I have very dry skin, especially in winter, and the Klairs sunscreen is the first one I've ever tried that looked GOOD under makeup. Both liquid and powder/mineral foundation looked great on top of it. Will try the Purito and Missha ones too just to see how they are. The Klairs one is pricy :/

Korean Skincare for the win!! Also, use mineral sunscreen as opposed to chemical!! It's better for the environment.

chemical Korean sunscreens are not bad for the environment as the active ingredients are updated, All the chemicals uv blockers that are used in the US are bad for environment.

I love the Biore sunscreen. I have been using it for about a year and it wears really well. I had never used sunscreen before almost at all. I started focusing more on skin care and realized I really had messed up my skin by not using sunscreen. I am almost 40 and large areas of my skin shows my age way too much.

Damn I needed Susan and Fernando a few weeks ago when I bought the purito. My face looks SHINY by the end of the day. I happened to order the Biore one yesterday so I can’t wait to give that a try.

I have the Missha one and the texture is amazing on the skin (which is why I initially thought that I would grab for it a lot) but it does have alcohol in it and a strong fragrance that stings my eyes when I first put it on. If you’re sensitive to scents please be aware!

I actually just ordered the MAKE P:REM UV Defense me. Blue ray Sun Fluid SPF 50+ PA++++ 200ml after I saw some great review from Hot & Flashy Angie. Have you tried that one yet?

I just ordered my first ever corean sunscreen 2 days ago, yay ! What's non negociable for me is that it has to be a lightweight watery texture, so asian formulas are perfect. But, also cruelty free, mineral, and in the long run I will convert excusively to brands that are sustainable/eco friendly

Both me and my bf put on Biore in Dominica and both of us got sun burn!!! Don’t use it under extreme sun exposure. Daily use is ok

You’re awesome Susan! Any way you could share some waterproof sunblock for the summer months? I absolutely love the purito, but tend to swim more during the hotter months and am looking for protection during my swims. Thoughts?
@kden19224 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking about that too. Purito is good for daily use, but not for exercising or for the pool. The only sunscreen I've found with the right ingredients is the badger clear zinc sport sunscreen. That, unfortunately, does leave a white cast though.

My favorite so far is the Purito. It makes my face look the least shiny of any chemical sunscreens I've tried. Before I found the Purito sunscreen, I was using Klairs for several months. I loved the whipped and light texture of it and even liked the scent but it made my face look greasy. I tried the Missha few years ago but my neck area had a reaction to the alcohol in the formulation. For some reason the skin on my neck is super sensitive.

@@Kirby_Pinku I have never had it pill on my skin. I'm not sure how this would even happen; it has the texture of lotion.

I have oily skin and the Purito one does keep my oil at bay so I guess it depends on the person, the humidity of the place you live in and how much oil your skin actually produces. Not every oily skin is made equal
