Maintaining hydration and reapplying sunscreen two times a day is what works best for me. The riceberry sunscreen from liittllextra is currently my favorite, as it suits those with oily or combination skin perfectly. It doesn't feel like a sunscreen, absorbs really quickly into the skin and leaves a matte finish. Probably the only sunscreen that hasn't felt oily on my skin. Absolutely loved it!

For those dark skinned people wondering about biossance. I’m medium-deep skinned tone. I use biossance. I’ve used it for two years. It’s starts out like a white cast, and after rubbing it in, it does disappear after about one-two min. I do rub it out of my eyebrow hair. It does rub out easy.

It helps me use less foundation, which was my goal. I do set it with a little powder and finishing spray, but because I still have good oil in my skin, I do have to blot it during the day. You definitely cannot say that all older people have dry skin, that is a myth. lol!

Agree w/ you Dr Maxfield re: tinted sunscreen! For me , its so challenging to find a mineral sunscreen that is a matte /satin finish and tinted for tan/deep skin. Australian Gold SPF50 in med/deep tint is my HG for years. I avoid chemical sunscreen because i have hyperpigmentation and ive read that: "Yes, chemical sunscreens can produce heat as a byproduct when they absorb UV radiation, which can potentially worsen hyperpigmentation conditions. Hyperpigmentation is a common skin condition that causes some areas of the skin to be darker than others. Heat can trigger melasma, a type of hyperpigmentation, especially in people with darker skin tones." Do u agree with this Drs Max n Shah? Im concerned because i really would like to try our K- sunscreens. Also, are the SPF stickers reliable in testing sunscreen efficacy?
@shalop56143 ай бұрын
Good news, you don't need to worry about this! There is no significant difference in heat between physical and chemical sunscreens. Both chemical and physical sunscreens absorb almost all UV, and the vast majority of heat comes from inferred and visible light, not UV. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3fLq6VvecegjdU

I agree without you and have the same preferences regarding mineral sunscreens. after a lot of research, trial and error, I found personally that the MDsolarsciences mineral tinted and the Isdin ageless tinted are the best for me. I don't even feel that I'm wearing sunscreen because of how lightweight they are, and they're very smooth/matte while still being moisturizing, not drying, and also water resistant. chemical sunscreens not only cause hyperpigmentation but are damaging to the oceans and coral, are irritating for sensitive and acne prone skin, and not to mention the research regarding absorption into the bloodstream and hormonal changes. even if the research is limited and needs further investigation, if there is even a chance that chemical sunscreens can harm both human AND environmental health, mineral sunscreens are 100% the way to go.

Dr Jart+ Mineral sunscreen…. You have to do a review on. Soooo underrated! Blends amazing and feels amazing. Maybe a Dr Jart video???

My favorite is DRMTLGY. I have used the Eucerin tinted and it’s okay and will use it. However, i’m headed to Japan and can’t wait to purchase sunscreen. I am planning on coming home with a bunch. They are so much more elegant.

Dr. Maxfield, since you really put these to the test in the ocean and working out, could do a whole video on water-resistant sunscreens that include athlete focused (Zealios both mineral and combo, DermaSport, Japanese Anessa and Biore Athlizm, Jack Black combo, EltaMD Sport combo) and others like Swedish EVY, Spanish ISDIN, Japanese Biore Aqua Rich and Skin Aqua. Most reviewers do not swim for extended periods or surf.

You did not mention the La Roche Posay at all. I have been using for many years and it’s been amazing!

Beauty of Joseon (BOJ) was my GOAT for quite a while, but sadly over time I noticed that it was causing breakouts. Now the Haruharu Wonder Airyfit is my GOAT… plus, the Haruharu leaves my oily skin with a completely natural, skin-like finish, which I prefer over BOJ’s slightly dewy finish.

I dont know how I feel about the Beauty of Joseon one.... It feels and looks amazing, but I have so many new freckles while using it (I reapply as well)... and last year I didn't get any with the same skincare routine and using other sunscreens. :/ So honestly I doubt the full protection, even though I dont burn using it....

I tend to be sensitive to added fragrances. In future videos please consider mentioning if products smell & how strong

I have tried so many sunscreens especially the mineral one and I keep coming back to EltaMD UV Clear broad spectrum spf 46 tinted. This time I bought a package of two so I would not run out during this summer.

Love the video but I dont know Dr maxfield is getting more and more handsome and I have to turn off the lighting on my computer and just listen to the audio bc he is very distracting. I dont see how he can practice medicine without his patients going crazy..wow

I am really suspect of neutrogena sunscreens now. Used one Last year and kept getting way more tanning than when I was using others as I rotated them around. I play tennis 3 times a week at the same time, which is my main sun exposure in the summer as I am heat sensitive. So it was easy to see which sunscreens worked and which didn’t. Their one newer tinted face sunscreen worked but the design of the bottle is horrible and lots of complaints on it leaking.

EltaMD UV Restore is an awesome full-mineral sunscreen. I have oily acne prone skin and it blends well without breaking my skin out ❤

I absolutely love Isntree's Watery Sun Gel! Didn't Naomi Osaka come out with a water-resistant mineral sunscreen for deeper skin tones?
