In Indonesia, you have to give a note to the seller if you want your food spicy, extra spicy, or not spicy. If you don't tell them, they will just give you the not spicy one. If you really into spicy, try to eat ayam geprek or mie gacoan. If you go to Lombok Island, try their authentic Ayam Taliwang. (Ayam = chicken, Taliwang = the region name)

Please don't worry about ordering only one or two items, it's fine here :) Glad you enjoyed the batagor and the siomay. If interested, you might want to try ketoprak too, also served with peanut sauce, which has a dominant garlic flavor in it.

If you miss spicy sauce, you can get Indofood pedas manis, or Belibis chili sauce, that is the best sauce in my life. You can buy it in every minimarket in Indonesia Many Koreans who visited Indonesia buy those sauce and take them to their country

If you like spicy food, you have to try Ayam Geprek (fried chicken smashed with spicy chili on it) or Ayam Penyet. You also have to try Seblak (one of favorite and comfort food for Bandung's people, this one so spicy if you request it spicy)

@@hoontamin sure , you can try Warung nasi Bu Imas must try jukut goreng their special dish , Batagor Kingsley little bit pricey but taste good , then noodle you can try Mie Lezat Gang Luna its legend , and then soto simon its typical Bandung soup with plenty of meat located in cibadak street night market, btw how long will you be in bandung ? If you have enough time you must visit floating market in lembang , lots of delicious street food, the place is also unique , goodluck and enjoy Bandung

Di Jakarta ga ada batagor dan baso tahu (kalau orang Jakarta bilang siomay) yang enak.. Untuk info aja, baso tahu itu makanan Bandung, tapi entah bagaimana, di Jakarta disebut siomay.. Padahal di Bandung, siomay itu jenis makanan yang berbeda..

Try eat peanut sauce with sambal, not sauce sambal. Sauce sambal usually mix sweet, sour, spicy more like sauce than sambal.

😮 you make a mistake sir. That sweet soy sauce will make the sauce more sweet and better. The same at the sate or satay. The combination of sweet soy sauce or kecap manis with the peanut sauce make it better. I'm salivating right now. I don't know if you did it on purpose or not. But it's just an advice maybe as a foreigner you didn't know. And thought that was a salty soy sauce typically had in many asian country.

Batagor is not supposed to be spicy (spicy in Indonesian standard is extreme) it will ruin the delicate profile of the dish, however, there are batagor sellers that have a slightly spicier hot sauce that will be mixed with the peanut sauce according to your request but I guess not the one you ordered from. Personally, I don't like that ketchup thingy in my batagor, the tang from the tomato ruined it for me, it just doesn't go together conservatively. it will, however, go great with that sambal style that you get from bakso, the watery chilly juice. it will spice it up without messing up the flavor profile. if you want spicy Indonesian food try Manadonese dishes or East Javanese dishes they are wild with chilly peppers. on an unrelated note, you should try cilok. it's basically Indonesian tteokbokki but instead of being made of rice it's made of a combination of tapioca and rice and or wheat flour, instead of gochujang it's either terasi or petis (which are types of shrimp paste) for the tang in the sauce.
