Ever compared how you see the Philippines with a friend or relative of yours who lives abroad? 🤔This video was shot last January 2020 before the COVID19 pandemic featuring South Korean exchange students, and South Koreans who live in the Philippines. 이 영상은 2020년 1월에 코로나 대유행 이전에 필리핀에 거주하던 한국인 교환학생들이 출연하여 촬영된 영상입니다.

This is very interesting. The Koreans living in PH for more than 10 years already sound like locals. 😂 And yeah, normal Filipinos rarely have chance to go to Cebu or Boracay. Those are quite expensive travel destinations already. There are lots of cheaper options other than those cities. And ate girl saying moa and ortigas are really relatable especially if you are someone living in metro Manila.

As an American, we've been to both S Korea and the Philippines. Filipinos beat Korea in terms of how to live your one and only life. Life is not all about getting the grades, going to a great school and getting a top notch job and earn a lot of money. Filipinos enjoy life. They just go out of their house and they have lots of people to talk to whether or not they know them. Koreans have lost this unfortunately. On our last trip to Korea, not one single person came up to us to help when we were obviously trying to figure out with our phones how to get to a certain restaurant. So sad that Koreans have lost the joy in life. Filipinos (young and old ) are not afraid to come up to strangers and will help with smile and joke through good times and bad. We have been through several Asian countries and the Philippines and its people will always warm my heart.

I'm a Fil, and I've been to Korea, I think it's much different in rural areas, where people are more accommodating (Although I'm not too sure if it's every rural area, I did not go everywhere). But I think that a fast-phased culture really prioritizes how you somehow do not bother anydbody. Yes, it's the culture in many global Asian Cities--you are too careful not to bother or piss of anybody as they are already very busy thinking about their work/studies. And in the Phils, I never really felt like wherever I go I need to be careful with my behavior as someone might find me very troublesome.

Philippines transportation system is so bad because it is multiple operators (hundreds or thousands in Metro Manila alone) with each driver hustling to make a profit to cover their boundaries unlike in SK or even USA, it is a single operator per city where the drivers are employees with a fixed salary with benefits.

As a Filipino myself, I agree with the education system part. Never in my life have I been pressured by my parents to do excellent in my education. Whenever I get a not so good grade in a subject(specifically math), they always tell me that I did my best and that is already enough. Although, I know for sure that there are still some parents out there who pressure their child to excel in education, it's very rare here in the Philippines tho.

@Moon Head your lucky you know.. I am being pressured by my parents. They will like give me a death stare or ignore me if I don't do my assignments or homework. And if I get a score lower than 90, they are gonna take my phone, can't watch tv or go outside, just learn, read and more. They will always say that if I don't read or be more focus on my homeworks, I would end up not be smart. I mean I try my best. I have strict parents, but they can be fun sometimes, they give me my snacks and Jollibee sometimes if they go out. But still I love my parents, even if they're very strict about education.

Transportation here in the Philippines really needs a rework, I came from the province so whenever I go into an urbanized city I get super exhausted because there's so many people in one place. When you want to go to one place from another, you'd spend 1 hour waiting and travelling because of the traffic, even though the travel would hypothetically be only about 20 minutes. I really like watching k-drama and I always see how Korea's public transportation is so advanced and convenient, I really wish Philippines could have something similar in the near future.

Du30 said before, transportation traffics alone causes a big decline on profit. Even though we may spend a lot today, doesn't mean the transportation won't be worthwhile so is his other projects. I just love how they already sound so Filipino and talk about what they think could be a great way to make Philippines a better country. I wish the "convenience" system of Korea would be experienced by the Filipinos someday. Let's vote wisely this election! 🤣 I have kwento pala. The other day, I was riding a jeepney and two korean men were sitting beside me talking. It was too hard to not listen to them because they were too loud 🤣 it's a bit noisy around baclaran so I understand they have to speak louder. I couldn't understand because they were talking in korean.. hehe but they mentioned Pilipin and "pabo' in one sentence and I don't want to overthink hahahaha I kind of just laughed it off in my head 🤣 Oh and on the same day, I went to a bank (in baclaran as well) but it was so sad the Filipinos had to get in line and stay outside under the scorching heat of Manila before they could have their thing get done inside... Because the workers of the bank and the security guards prioritize Chinese people.. these Chinese people wouldn't even try to get in line, they just go directly inside the bank ☹️ I know Koreans and Chinese are not the same.. but I'm just sad because Filipinos are getting belittled in their own country... please note that I don't mean to leave a hate comment here... there are a lot of koreans and chinese people who are living here in Pinas who have pusong pinoy na. Some, like Ryan Bang, also believes in what the Philippines can do.. I like how they see the potential of Philippines in becoming a great country again. I'm not saying Philippines is not great but we could be more than great! Especially with good and not corrupt leaders 🤣

This customer of mine insists na damihan pa yung ice cream na ilalagay sa cone which is hindi dapat. He threatened me to report me to the manager and the highest, nag give in na lang po ako kasi dumami na yung customers na pumasok at ayokong magkakagulo. @@kaizen7659 cat calling?! if women do not want that treatment, they should conduct themselves in proper manner , to be a respectable human being, NOT enticing men by wearing prostitute clothes..Prostitute?!really? seriously?!!! YES. What are the prostitutes wearing in the first place? sexy clothes right?why? because its a way to seduce men. So you are saying, women can display their bodies ( to make men salivating) but men are forbidden to harass them, wow!!!aren't you a bit self centered?!torturer?! Why MANY Women out there cant accept that its their fault if men thinks in general that they are not dignified lady when wearing seductive clothes? What is the purpose of wearing seductive clothes by the way? is it not to seek attention from others especially men? If NOT, and you just wanted to enjoy it for yourself, why going in public? why not put on some very sexy clothes, like lingerie and stay in your room then? in your room, you can admire your looks and body right? I dont think so, because the real reason is, women like you, wanted to show off their looks to people, to get a attention from men,( but also demand respect from men at the same time ) to be envied by other women. You may contradict me as long as you want, but no matter how much you denied it, its the truth, and by saying "No, that is not the truth", proved only that you are a hypocrite, liar. So can you blame men for not respecting these women who wear these types of clothes? oh come on! have a decency!! What makes you different from prostitute in terms of appearance? NONE. I am not saying that men should harass women, but can you really blame them? That is the question. Goodness, I am not even a man..but I just could not accept where the world system is heading to. Immorality and feminism. The world system is empowering women in a wrong way. Tolerating the bad, and forgetting what is right.

Wow, this is nice. I can relate to the topic. In my opinion, there are things we can learn from each other as a nation. cultural background, lifestyle and some important lessons in life. I think what comes in my mind is the character of being a Filipino as friendly and hospitable. Being Filipino, we are part of Korea's history during the war. We knew Korea, was having hard time in their 50's to 80's, but look at them now as a nation, they are globally competitive, advance in technology, high standard living and education and lots of convenience. There are so many things we can compare between Korea and Philippines yet each has its own distinction and uniqueness. We can learn from each others strength and weakness; advantages and disadvantages. And also, the trends and influences we can get from each other as a country.

My experience in Korea as a Filipino I didn't feel they were cold per se because when I was there about 11 or 12 years ago a lot of people were helpful if they see you struggling. Even if some of them couldn't speak English. The fellow bus passenger from the airport who went out of his way to find our hotel on his phone when he daw us bewildered, the taxi driver who couldn't speak English but tried his best to drive us to the hotel, the receptionist who went out of the hotel to tell us we don't need to hire a taxi to go to the Samsung store when he saw us waiting for a taxi, the restaurant attendant who used sign language to tell us to stay while she called for an English speaking colleague, the ajumma who laughed so hard at my joke while I was buying underwear in the subway amd the grocery amd convenience store attendants. The was only one bad incident, the airport taxi scam on our way to the airport lol but from that point on I have nothing but love for Korea. I hope to visit again soon. ❤❤❤

Imagine if Philippines said yes to Japan when they offered help to build a subway system years ago... that could have been epic in increasing our economy. But unfortunately, we got a greedy selfish government (and businessmen) ... they wanted monetary compensation too, along with the donation, and plans to include their own companies on the project so they could get richer, but Japan didn't like that, and so they backed out. It's tragic and disgusting. Filipinos should rise against corruption and capitalism. (This is according to my readings, please do your research too.)

When they talked about the school system here I can't help but miss my life in school before covid happened. There are struggles when you study in school but knowing you get to bond with your friends and chat with them and actually seeing your teachers physically boost your confidence, but right now it's so hard for me to have that same mindset because it's really hard to be studying on your own and trying your best to somehow learn even in this situation we're all in. I really hope everything goes back to normal or as normal as it can be because I don't know if I can last another year in online class I may lose my mind😂

Interesting point of views. One point most Filipinos like Kdramas because of well made production, fast faced story with nice plots and twists which are worth watching. Korean artists trained for years before they debut. They honed their talents. In Philippines not so. You can easily enter the entertainment business if your a son or daughter of a celebrity.
