As The Weeknd is having a concert here in Korea, we got reactions from Korean people after they've watched three of the most famous songs by The Weeknd. Turns out they've never listened to The Weeknd.
Anyway! The Weeknd is having a concert in December 15 (that's actually today, KST) at Gocheok Sky Dome.
Seems like Korean people love The Weeknd, but we wish more Korean people get to know him and his art.

Yeah R&B isn't big in korea so most people either lump it in with hip hop, confuse it with ballads, or won't know it at all

One of These Nights went under the radar and even Bad Boy wasn't anywhere near as big as Red Flavour or their other title tracks in Korea. R&B is slowly getting recognition through khiphop artists but it's still got a long way to go before it's widely understood over there

@YG trash also RV has way more than just 3 R&B tracks. In terms of title tracks yeah they don't promote it much but their B sides are full of R&B, Hip Hop-infused pop and other chill tracks that deserve way more recognition than what they get tbh.

I hope they cover James Vincent Mcmorrow. as he's both mainstream and yet underground. his songs have been in blockbusters as well as critically acclaimed tv shows. but somehow he's still under the radar. but people didn't take real notice of him until his cover of wicked game. became the song for the game of Thrones trailer. which I'd suggest listening to is the acoustic cover of the song as the video has so much raw emotion. red dust, we don't eat, and follow you down are probably some of his most remixed songs.
