This tutorial does require the general basic knowledge of Unity, but if you need a step by step, explanation, do not be afraid to personally DM me! My Dm's are ALWAYS opened ! (If I don't respond, don't be scared to spam me, I have a bad habit of mentally replying)
Had requests from multiple people on how I do my Wing // Tail animations,, so hopefully this video gives a basic understanding of how I do them! I personally do not mind sharing how I make models! I'm open to helping anyone.

I need some of you guys to put into consideration that this is an OUTDATED unity file and video so not everything is accurate to it's current up to date VRCC. This is PRE VRCC. On top of the fact that during the recording of this video, i used a mic prior to my replacement. If youre gonna look up a unity or blender tutorial for anybody, DONT be an asshole about it. I have left my discord and socials about for a reason.

Stilled worked for me as for today! 🥰 Just changed all the frames in the Automation to Auto to have no lag in the loop. Thank you so much, wonderful explanation!

This path does still work but you can do the Toggle/Para/Fx Part with just a press of a button in unity which is Create Advanced Toggle It basically allowed me to put my animations in there and just make it a Toggle, It's called Toggle Assistant There is a file for it you just have to install most people don't know about it still but it just makes the process of making avatars a lot faster I found it around a year ago and it helps a ton with animations like these. I will also mention if you are trying to upload to IOS (Since it is Supported) Just know Animations won't work properly in game with IOS Yet same with most worlds as IOS Is still in beta from What VRChat says even though it's been a whole year but keep in mind IOS Only works in the 2022 version of unity uploading it on 2019 will say it succeeds but VRChat won't register it unless it's uploaded from 2022 weird things.

This is a great tutorial but for some reason my avatar is in a crouching position still when I save the animation and run it.

Did you make sure to duplicate the model before creating the animation?

I figured out the issue hun, I just had the same exact thing happened. Make sure you have a Base attached in the VRC Avatar Descriptor // Playable layers. This should fix your issue.

my animation just isn’t working as smooth, like i even copy paste so it’s perfect but when the animation restarts it looks like the tail jumps a little :/

I have a problem, when I test it in unity like you did it works, but once I offline test it in VRchat there is no button or tail wag, pls help thanks

My avatars tail ends up stuck in the last position it was in when toggling off the animation. Any ideas on how to set it back to neutral? The transitions are the same as the ones shown in video.

you might have the same issue I frequently have with my models. Have you tried creating an idle animation with nothing in the animation?? If you need me to show you an example, you can contact me on insta or Discord

I'm trying the same as this but in my case I want to animate the ear, but strangely it can only be one way when I rotate to Y then I rotate again to X the position of the ear is reset to its original position, I don't know how to fix it
