FOCK MAN u know what???...i focking didn't know u could do that!!! loooool like a 303 basically. will be great...to do up and down with the scale as you play/record the notes!! thanks for the tip/reminder. great!!

thanks my friend ...is it possible to write in a dialog box the commands and the step you did?
@LousyFacelift12 жыл бұрын
LOL, yes, similar to a 303 indeed. For pauses just press Rest/Tie on the according steps and to extend the length of a note just keep the last note pressed and push Rest/Tie (a couple of times).

Does anyone know if there are any good tutorials on KZbin. I've had my EMX-1 for 20 years, and every few years I come back to it to try and understand how to use it, but give up each time. There are various videos of people randomly pressing buttons, which I can do, but no good basic introduction. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
@LousyFacelift4 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, if you search trough my channel you can find many videos on how to use the EMX. Just look for the older ones I've made. I used the EMX extensively back then and you can also ask questions when there is something you're trying to figure out.

Hi can I connect my emx straight into my mc505 without a laptop ?? Another great video
@LousyFacelift6 жыл бұрын
Tony Davidson You could send an audio signal from the 505 to the EMX but it's a mono input. The 505 doesn't have an input for external audio signals.

Very nice, did not know you could transpose like that! A question, do you know how to delete notes in the step edit mode?
@KimStennabbCaesar10 жыл бұрын
Found it! Had to go to Part Edit and press the Keyboard button (so it is unlit) to see which notes were active, then deselect the ones I did not want. :)
@LousyFacelift10 жыл бұрын
Kim Stennabb Caesar If you type in the wrong note in step record mode, you can also hold shift and press the small rewind key (not the one next to the record button, that one's for the realtime erase function in pattern record mode). You can press it for as many steps as you wish to erase. The cursor then moves back and you can try again.
@KimStennabbCaesar10 жыл бұрын
Ahhh, never realized those small arrows indicated a shift-function! Thanks, will definitely come in handy. Been making a UK Garage tune today with great results, will probably get a video up later next week. :)

No, haha...I've seen them and I think they sound really cool, but actually I'm really just using the EMX right now and having so much other stuff that I don't use very often makes me feel guilty somhow, lol. They look pretty damn cool though....damn....! ;)

Are you really sure you fully understand the purpose of this video? It is an answer to a request, it's not my music, so please read the description! I know the editing gets a little annoying after a while but that is somtimes part of the work. Please watch the whole thing (if you didn't make it to the end) and compare to the original song. It's all about trying to get close to a certain musical idea. Step record mode is often overlooked or ignored on the EMX and with this example I'm only trying to show how to use it.
@LousyFacelift8 жыл бұрын
Let me translate: "The poor EMX. Please sell it. What kind of music is this?" - If that's what you tried to say - wow man, that's really arrogant! And btw. it's not cool to vote thumbs up for your own comment. When I saw it popping up it already had a like...
