@@timursakka1941 Thanks for the response. The main key to the sound quality you hear is using the EQ options, which I explain in the video. Be sure to follow ALL the instructions in this video from start to finish to get all the sounds sounding like what's in the video.

Thanks for the comment and appreciation! I figured, if I could figure this out, I'd do the opposite of what most may do: give these PCGs away for free. The hardest part was figuring out how to sample. Sampling takes almost a full day of not being able to use your computer. After all the trial and error, I was like, "why not just give them away?"

@@freddiebrinson Pause the video at 5:24 and make sure your RT/Karma tab looks exactly like what you see. My second guess: You may have added an effect underneath your MFX/TFX that's causing it. Third guess: You need to reload the audio samples specific to the piano that's having the problem.

Hi Cedric , thank you so much for this video. You obviously know the Kronos very well. I wonder if you could help me. My Kronos has an issue. It has lost some of it's sounds including most of the pianos. A little tab comes up 'Samples not loaded' at the top of the screen. All the sounds under the Set List preloaded sounds are there visually but there is no sound. All the pianos under Program are there but no sound. If it is a Piano & Strings programme only the strings are playing. This may have been something I caused in the Disk section trying to load some external sounds. Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ah! Simple fix... Please go to Global Settings (Basic Tab/KSC Autoload Tab). Please reference 4:30 in the video. You see the checkboxes on the left? Those need to all be checked RED. Once you have them all checked, click "Do Autoload Now" and at the bottom right of the screen.

@@cjmedia_llc Not such a simple fix I think. When I selected Global/Basic/ KSC Autoload tab, the page is empty. No tabs, no information, no boxes to turn red. I have the Kronos SE with the Italian Piano samples and some KAPRO string sounds preloaded, I would hate to lose these. I'm not sure a factory Reset would include these.

@@markgasparini6889 *3 Things:* 1. Start the video at 2:48 and pause. Do you see a *Factory* folder in Disk Utility menu? The factory KSC's may be in there. You'll need to load them back in. 2. Go to 4:16 in the video. Try clicking *Add KSC*. You should be able to get to the Factory folder and re-add the factory KSC's. 3. If (2) or (3) don't work, you may have to do a Factory Reset. If you don't want to loose your 3rd party pianos, you can copy them off using the *Disk Utility* menu.

Wow these are great sounds. Just bought a used Kronos 1 this weekend and the pianos are awful. I’ve been struggling to get the Keylab 88 to control the Kronos. How did this set up the Keylab to control the Kronos?

Finbarr McGrath Hey there...All you have to do is put a midi cable in the MIDI OUT Port of the KeyLab, and the other side of the cable into the MIDI IN Port of the Key Kronos. It should just work that way. If what I just said doesn't work, simply check that both your Kronos and the KeyLab are both set to the same midi channel (Ie. Midi channel 1). Let me know if that helps.

@@cjmedia_llc I have the exact opposite setup, with a keylab 61 and a Kronos x73/88 SE - and it usually works out well, though the keylab sometimes has odd midi channels for the pads. Four of mine were set to channel 1 and the rest to channel 10 (the usual drum channel). Also Finbarr, the pianos of the korg kronos are amazing in my opinion! Especially the newest italian one.

Please refer to 5:08 in the video. You'll need to follow those instructions for the MLS sounds. Basically, the EG Release level needs to be dropped.

JC Music hey...thanks for the comment..You’re welcome...I’ve sampled a combination of hardware and software to create the PCGs people can load into their Kronos...They are not perfect, but close.l, and can be made better with editing inside inside the Kronos (demonstrated in this video). To get patches such as Hugo Bass and others, I’d need to get access to the hardware OR software in order to sample it...

John Lennon Fanatic hey there...thanks for the comment. I’ve played the Yamaha CP-300, and it’s a great board. All the pianos in the Kronos are great in my opinion. There are also A LOT of editing possibilities. It all comes down to getting the chance to sit down at both instruments. While the CP-300 is the more expensive version, I can say in confidence that the CP4 is going to have great pianos, with an interface built for live performance (simple switching to different sounds). While the Kronos is performance-ready, it takes so much time to learn, especially for the uninitiated Korg user. I encourage you to go to the nearest store and try both pianos and make your decision. You couldn’t go wrong with either option, in my opinion.

John Lennon Fanatic ...So, this video features 3 Yamaha pianos that I sampled for the Kronos. The download link for these custom Korg Kronos libraries I created is in the video description. I feel the pianos on the Korg Kronos sound more realistic. Again, that’s just my opinion. Since we’re dealing with a good amount of money for both the Kronos and CP4, it really comes down to the purpose for use, which sound set you prefer, and the physician feel. Do you want a keyboard that can do 1 MILLION things, tailored for programming live shows (Korg Kronos), or do you want an easy-to-use stage piano with the bare bones and good feel (Yamaha CP4)? Both boards’ pianos sound great through.

John Lennon Fanatic No problem! Be sure to visit your nearest music store that stocks the Montage. Bring headphones and and a sustain pedal. Dig into the board. This way, you can ensure you’ll actually be happy with the board in the long run. I also recommend never throwing away the packaging. If you decide to sell in the future in order to offset upgrading costs, it turns out it’s hard finding large boxes and sufficient padding to ship music instruments.

Hey...you have to save your changes, or it will always jump back. Please pause the video at 5:20 . Look at the top right of the Kronos screen and click that drop down. That’s where you save “Write” or save your edits (I.e. release changes)...

Steve Foster What type of computer do you have? Mac or PC? PC: Step 1: Connect your USB drive to the device and click on Open folder to view files option. Step 2: Right click on your USB drive and click on Format option. Step 3: From the window, select FAT32 from the drop down bar under File system. Step 4: Click on Start and OK to commence the formatting process. Step 5: Once the formatting is completed click on OK.

You can also format your drive by having the Korg Kronos do it for you. Be forewarned, it will erase all data on it. You can choose between FAT 16 or FAT 32 (either is fine). To do so, simply insert a blank memory stick or drive USB into your Kronos, go to DISK mode, then use use the "Disk Select" to select your memory stick or drive, then in the menu (top right) click on "format" and presto! the Kronos formats your stick/drive for you so it can read all the data, with having to have your computer do the formattting. Choose either FAT 16 or 32, i think both will work fine. :)

Sup bro!!! Thanks for reaching out! If you want to convert these sounds you'll need: 1. Laptop or desktop computer. 2. Audio Interface that supports recording in stereo. 3. This software: www.midi-store.com/Chicken-Systems-Translator-Pro-p/sku3013437.htm 4. midi cable 5. two high-quality patch cables You'd use the software to sample your hardware, and convert it to a format your Kronos understands. Then you'd use a jump drive to transfer it over to you're Kronos, just like in my video.

Brandon Amador No prob...the key weighting is heavy...heavier than your typical Yamaha Motif 88, or Montage 88. The keybed is made to replicate the heavy weight of most concert pianos...which is perfect for me because I prefer to practice on something that is closest to the real thing...You CAN go in and adjust the key velocity (how hard you have to press to activate each note)...if you want the feel of playing it an actual concert grand piano in a midi controller, I highly recommend!

For someone just about ready to make the switch from a Motif Classic to a Kronos this is a godsend so thank you for sharing your work! I have found the Power Grand very useful in live settings over the years. However, the sound I'll miss the most from the Motif is the PRE1 A11 PianoBakup patch. Do you have any tips on how to sample this for the Kronos? It would be most appreciated.

Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, *I don't have **_sampling_** access* to the Motif Classic PianoBackup patch. To sample the _entirety_ of this patch, you'd have to go patch by patch (ie. the piano and strings, whatever else makes up PianoBackup)...KZbin Chicken Systems Translator, as that is the program I employed to sample. The *sampling process* is very long. You'll need an audio-interface with midi as well.

After a Google search, I didn’t see any such libraries for the Kronos. If you are a big fan of the Korg Kronos based off reviews, but desire to stay with Yamaha, the Yamaha Montage HAS the CFX piano, and is the only board that gets decently close to all the Kronos is.

Yamaha is most likely not interested in making them available for other formats, since its kinda the reason to get a Genos/Modx/Montage that you have access to this massive Piano sample. So your only chance is to either find someone with a Montage/Modx to sample them for you, and they have a lot of layers + release samples so gonna take quite some work, unless you are willing to compromise the quality with an automated sample converter like extreme sample converter. You won't be able to just convert it since its most likely using an encrypted format. But if you do take on the challenge to get it done let us know in the Shared pach FB group .. I'd love to have the CFX grand too for my Kronos :) There is propably several of the Yamaha libraries that would be interesting for Kronos users. Even there is many commercial labraries available to the Kronos users, I still think there propably is like 10 times as many for the Motif. The libraries and the quality of the product is the reason that even the Montage has been out for some years now, there are still lots of people sticking with their Motifs

Hi, my bank U-G is full, is there a way to quickly transfer all my programs on U-G to UU-FF or do I have to suffer transferring them one by one (ouch! that's a lot of work!). Hmmm....A couple of questions/suggestions: . . . . 1) Look at 4:00 in the video.....There are at least 96 (probably more) program slots in each User Bank (there's a scrollbar at the bottom of each User Bank). Are you sure you are using every slot? 2) If you want to move you Programs easy, I think the KORG/EDITOR/PLUG-IN Editor free software may help with that. goo.gl/vqwGna 3) Referring to 3:30 in the video: Have you tried simply selecting a different User Bank (at 3:47) for the PCGs to be loaded? It may or may not work. Just trying one the piano programs.

Hey! Thanks for the comment. The answer to your question: YES, you can get back the Berlin collection sounds. Cut on your Korg Kronos, Click GLOBAL button > Basic tab > KSC Auto-Load. Make sure the PRELOAD.KSC is selected/highlighted red, uncheck all other .KSC's, and click "Do Auto-Load Now". It sounds like you may: 1) not have actually loaded the pianos to the USER G bank (See video at 3:29) which cause you to overwrite the Berlin collection. OR 2) have unselected/unhighlighted red the PRELOAD.KSC.

The Korg Kronos 2 is not just a keyboard, it’s an actual production workstation, with a large file system, audio interface built in, and high-fidelity samples. You could compose and produce an entire album, AS WELL AS run a live show with this board. My board take about 1:32 to start up, but to me, that is a small price to pay for the best board on the market.

There is a velocity curve setting per Timbre. In other words, for each velocity layer, you can adjust the velocity range that velocity layer triggers at. I can't remember the name of the menu, but it can be accessed in any Program's individual settings. For example, if your sample has 7 velocity layers, you can set: 1. velocity layer 6 will trigger when I press any key with a velocity of 70-95. 2. velocity layer 7 will trigger when I press any key with a velocity of 96-127. When it comes to software that can do this work for you beforehand, try Chicken Systems Translator Pro (Mac and PC): samplerzone.com/collections/translator/products/chicken-systems-inc

Thanks the compliment! Sooo... I never really dealt with thin patches on the Kronos. I do know you can go into each patch and make it mono. You also can add a multiband equalizer to Any patch, among a bunch of other useful effects, to get exactly the sound you're looking for. I never tested this library in mono. These patches I created are not perfect, but can be made to sound like what you hear in this video. You'd have to follow all instructions in order.

Thanks for the reply! I’m not sure if you’re aware but there’s been a bit of a public outcry with how the Kronos piano patches sound in situations where you have to run the Kronos in mono (left output only). Ppl aren’t too thrilled with how the Kronos sums the piano patches in mono. That’s one of the only things keeping me from pulling the trigger just yet. Because I’m sure there will be times where I’ll be in situations where stereo won’t be an option for me.

Hello...Thanks for the comment! So, based on some brief online digging, your Yamaha PSR 775 sample type is AWM. From what it looks like, even if you used a software sampler application to sample these pianos, there is no conversion software available to convert these pianos to AWM format (the file type your keyboard understands). Have you looked into Yamaha Expansion Packs specifically for your PSR 775? Hey there!...While I would LOVE TO...I don't own the Korg Kronos 2 anymore (wanted to change things up)...I therefore don't have a way to test what I sampled before I release. When you consider the amount of people who have downloaded these pianos all over the world (links on various sites), it would be HIGHLY irresponsible not to test my work before release. HOWEVER, if I ever have a Kronos again, I'd definitely consider creating new samples. In which case, I'd make them COMPLETELY FREE for everyone.

Steve Foster sorry that happen...please see 4:10 in the video...you need to make sure all the KSC files on the KSC Autoload are selected (highlighted red)...then you need to click “Do Autoload Now”...SN: if you followed the instructions in this video in order , you wouldn’t have lost your stock sounds. My guess is that you unselected the stock KSC files. So, this should be an easy fix.

Steve Foster thanks for the comment...Please start the video at 5:07 to fix the sustain issue...You’ll need to drop the release down low enough so that there’s no more sustain...Each piano may require a different release level.

I now have the original Kronos but with expanded SSD so i'm able to load everything. But it doesn't sound anything like your demo and followed all the steps. The only thing I'm doing differently is installing to another bank. Does this have to install to bank U-G? Does it matter?

@@ChrisF176 Now, that's a different story. You could use Chicken Systems to perform a conversion. I'm postulating that it would be a rather quick conversion process. I think it should work. My only concern is onboard memory your M3. You'll need around 10 gigs free. I highly suggest studying this video and matching up all the menus you see in this video with the equivalent on your board before you try loading your custom conversions. Hey Cedric, tbh it’s didn’t work out after I tried 3 times step by step. The copy from the USB to Kronos was difficult bcos the files wasn’t “updated” and was written on Kronos X files not Kronos 2. But I managed to copy them which sound didn’t provide anything clean .. octaves 6 & 7 had no sound, tried to EQ but all I got was a fault preset. Even when adjusting the release it gave me nothing but a piano sound that would cut in and out. Another problem was when I turned the OC2 oscillation off no sound projected through... but when I put oc2 back on “multi” I had sound again. Not sure what to do

@@tooutaisaactimoteo4526 That's all really weird. I'm sorry it didn't work for you. The file types that make each sound work are universal to Korg Synths. Therefore, it shouldn't matter whether you copied the sounds to a Kronos, Kronos X, or Kronos 2. If you copied all sounds at once to a properly-formatted drive, and selected the correct files/folders per the video, there should be 0 issues. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@00c754 Not sure. I did google the answer though: 1. Select a Program. 2. Go to the PROGRAM > Home - Tone Adjust page. On this page you can check the parameter assignments and values, and adjust the sound. 3. Press the Sliders 9-17 buttons to look at the assignments for sliders 13, 14 and 16. Slider 16 is assigned to Amp EG Release. That’s probably the one you’ll want to adjust.

Hello. Once you've downloaded the (1) zip file, go to 1:40 in the video above. I explain you have to unzip the file and place it on an flash/jump drive. If you watch the video from 1:40 and follow ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN ORDER, you will successfully install the sounds.

Hey!...Thanks for downloading. Please refer to 5:06 in the video....You'll need to adjust the release of each piano this same way. Please also be sure to re-watch the ENTIRE video, and follow all the instructions in order. It's the only way to ensure everything works properly.
