I think the Korg would go well with another synth; not as my main synth. Thats an idea. But what do I use as my main synth.... Drums sound weak! Drums started to sound a little better! nice orch stuff... Im going to assume these sounds are great in a mix on tape.

Once you go analog, everything PCM sounds like child plastic toy... I once wanted to buy KRONOS but after starting to play with MS-20, KingKorg and Prophet 12 i lost interest in making music that way because i can play: 3 manual organ, flute, sax, accordion, bass guitar myself and real instruments sounds way better and more live then KORG, so i decided to make music that way. My plan is to get Pa900 instead, its nice toy for playing live in pub.

***** KingKorg is hybrid. Its ehanced VA synth engine (XMT?) from Microkorg XL (NMT) but it has some analog circuits on board and real tube which gives him very smooth sound and overdrive. It sounds really good for VA most likely due to its filters but its kinda expensive and no aftertouch and controls are on right side which really sucks for performance. I loved KK sound (i had it for 3 months - nice toy) but sold it, it was not worth keeping for its high price and no PC editor or even patch viewer, editing sounds on 2 row display sucks, and he has just 100 user sound slots. KK concept and idea was good but execution should have been done way better. I guess VA synths will be dead soon anyway, we have real analog synths on market now and Virtual Analog can be way cheaper made on computer with instrument plugin. Get some free VST host, buy some VA plugin for $50 (you will get lot of preset sounds) or use free and make sounds from scratch, add $200 for 24 bit/96kHz USB sound card with 4 inputs/outputs + 4x MIDI, buy some cheap old keyboard with MIDI out on ebay and you are set for fraction of KK price. No need to play $3200 for Virus TI2. I am very happy with Korg PA 900, it has 192MB RAM for samples, i can load all my stuff there. Sadly not much workstations/arrangers can load larger sample library, Yamaha PSR 950 can load just 64MB, Korg Krome can load very little, Roland FA06 looks like cant load nothing except bultin sound tweaks. I know only KRONOS and TYROS 5 which can load considerable amount of PCM data, but these two costs a lot. Economy making music on computer will win soon on mass scale, buy $300 music software and get like 33 GB of patches for free, no need to cry like Arrangers got no insert effects and just 2 masters - in DAW add as many effects as you wish.

+Brian Thorne It's the theme from the 90's film Robin Hood, which featured Kevin Costner, Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman. It's what you hear at the very beginning of the film at the opening credits.
