This is the first demo I've seen for this where the person had some real musical talent and wasn't just a synth nerd playing with their toy. :) Really nice video.

He didn't press any keys. But he played the synth by sequencing it, knowing how to modulate the filter with the filter and envelope, mix in and out oscillators, play with fx to build an awesome dynamic synth part.
@KaiPRoberts4 жыл бұрын
@@nextel94 He has midi-in/out cables plugged in. I think he is triggering a midi clip and then just shaping the synth.

yees. i have one but never imagine this possibilities. ahahahah
Some simple minor updates would get us to a much more powerful synth: 1. The Arp kinda blows - Manual input not best and kinda buggy how it behaves when using it with the sequencer. Speaking of sequencer... 2. Could use more steps (32 would make a huge difference for phrasing). Without adding more steps the sequencer could be waaaay more powerful with a few sequencer modes - Random (organic)/Backward (added variation)/Forward Backward (double the steps). 3. More LFO's - and more LFO Targets like..oh I dunno...the amp (for basic tremolo effects)!?! 4. Some simple SHIFT+KNOB functionality - Like SHOFT+TEMPO KNOB allows for menu tempo value (which allows for much slower tempos). Etc, Etc. That all being said, its an amazing when it comes to playability and sound design - very intuitive and fun to use. It's amazing...just not Really Amazing...yet (to be cont.)
@GrootsieTheDog4 жыл бұрын
fetishccine This synth is a lot of fun. Korg designs their new models with user friendliness at front and center (sometimes at the xpense of added functions). It’s easy to come up with some incredibly rich and textured sound without trying. But you might be bothered by the drift (tuning) of an analogue synth if you are not used to that - but once it’s been running for awhile, it’s stays in tune pretty nicely. So yes, this could make for a very nice first synth - it sounds fantastic and it’s very user friendly - I would recommend...and I’m sure there will be another big update in the future.

@@GrootsieTheDog hello, seems u really know about the stuff, I am gonna buy a korg minilogue or minilogue XD, Mostly for pads, ambient, atmosphere and use patches created by other users, which one is the better one for this, and I have to use other instuments too so it would be nice if it would stay in tune if thats possible. Thanks for the answer in advance
@GrootsieTheDog4 жыл бұрын
@@BlackStarDubz No prob - Depends on style, genre, etc but the Minilogue XD has some amazing reverb and delay EFX - those can help you create some expansive atmospheres and a sense of space. Also, the XD has the ability to import Mutable Instruments modular synth waveforms and other user waveforms - so there are aspects of the Minilogue XD that are more powerful and give you a broader palette - but creativity is always the best instrument and will make any synth you get awesome! If you want to bring down the difference in price between the two - I highly recommend getting the module. Especially if you already have a midi keyboard like the Arturia :) As for tuning - I find the XD stays ib tune very nicely after its been on for a while and warmed up.
@BlackStarDubz4 жыл бұрын
N B thanks so much for the answer, I think I am going to buy the XD but with the keyboard cause I just have a M-audio midi keyboard which is not the best of best, I guess all in all the XD has more function to create a great sound

hey, do I need TRS to TRS / ts to ts / ts (minilogue xd) to TRS(audio interface) to record the synth?
@evanfrench4 жыл бұрын
not sure I understand the question but the minilogue xd has two output jacks, so 2 x 1/4" TS out, to whatever your audio interface will accept. if you have a mixer with stereo in, just 2x TS (both sides) is all you need.
@Timinasounds4 жыл бұрын
depends on your interface input, but i would say if you want stereo recording and you happen to have 2 inputs in the audio interface, use TRS-TRS*2. E.G I have a scarlett solo and I use the [XLR mic + 6.3 jack] inputs to record stereo : I use one [TRS male-TRS male] and a [TRS male-XLR male]. If you use an XLR mic input make sure you DON'T activate the ghost 48V, It could damage the baby.
