Thanks for the vid! It was a major influence in my recent purchase of the Minilogue XD module version as I already own a midi keyboard. I liked that you just showed off a bunch of cool sounds instead of a 30 min talk with 5 min of actual sound demo. I just got it about 3 weeks ago and finally have it working well with Ableton 11. It took a little time to dial in all the little details that a new piece of equipment requires when trying to get it to play nice with your DAW but totally worth it! Its my first analog synth after a decade of VSTs ( which I still love btw) but nothing beats the perfect imperfections of raw electric oscillators. Its like a real diamond vs a Zircon diamond, you can tell the real one because of the natural imperfections lacking in the zircon copy. Also nothing beats a real filter and how it shapes the harmonics. I think I might be in love....Hahahaha! Thanks again for sharing.

I got this synth a few years back and it’s a great synth but I’m finding it doesn’t have as much character as I’d like out of a synth. My band’s keyboardist has the original minilogue and I like it a lot better than the XD even though it has a much narrower range of sounds it can make. The XD is definitely a jack of all trades master of none kinda deal, the FX section does a lot of heavy lifting but is almost always a hinderance in a studio setting (besides the mod section). I do like leads on the XD a bit more as the filter section has actual weight to it, the joystick is great for performance, and the digital oscillator can get some killer tones but overall the synth feels very synthwave clean/flat

Even after watching this video? I feel like these are awesome sounds!

These are sick sounds but it does often rely on its fx section. I guess it really depends on what you’re looking for. The original sounds like a 1970s/80s polysynth. This one is comparatively a lot more modern sounding imo. I still end up recording both in projects often

I guess I like the clean sounds it's capable of, but that filter can get pretty gnarly too imo. I'm biased though because I own it and don't have money for anything else right now haha

Totally fair yeah. It’s definitely an amazing synth and I don’t regret getting it over the original as it was the right sound for my projects at the time and it’ll probably come back around to being the right sound again at some point. I’m very lucky to have access to all the synths I’ve been able to play over the past year though and definitely see where the minilogue xd might be lacking although I’ve managed to coax more sounds out of it since my original comment that I’m enjoying quite a bit

@ 3:15 min 😲 How did you do that? Is that a 16 note sequence that has note pitch information on the first sequncer line, and other motion recorded sequnce on the other lines? How can you transpose this sequence just by playing it with the keys?

@peterandrew6755 Just saying EZ doesn't help that much on how to acheive this realtime pitch driven sequence though, I'd like to know how he does that.🤔
