Yes, I'm experiencing the "reverb click."
@User1735 жыл бұрын
yes I had some reverb clicks. I believe this is simply because when changing preset's the super wide and large waveforms are suddenly brought back to the zero volt line and result in a click. I wasn't really bothered because I don't see a reason to be switching reverbs mid playing.

One thing about the filter+EG that I’m not understanding or hearing about much is whether it can create really snappy percussive envelopes with a strong initial transient peak. This to me is a basic requirement. Your sound hear in the filter section sounds like it has plenty of high frequency content to allow the filter to create that percussion on attack, but the filter EG sounds very soft, with not evens gentle bump on the attack. I just cant figure if the filter+EG supports this sound or if I’m not hearing it anywhere because it simply doesn’t. Any help is appreciated!

Great video man, helped me a lot to understand more about this synth :) I'd really appreciate more info about menu diving if there's any :)
@User1735 жыл бұрын
Thank you for commenting! Sure, the menu dive thing is very, very simple to understand. When you go into the edit menus, they are all divided up along the sequencer. When you press a button on the sequencer, the corresponding menu pops up on the display. If that menu has more options, you can just repeatedly press the button the sequencer that it corresponds to, and it will cycle through the various menus for that given parameter. It's a tiny bit menu diving, but really not bad once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for an extremely informative video. I’m thinking about buying one. Two limitations worry me. Only having 16 steps on the sequencer is limiting, I really need enough for 32 bars, secondly the lack of an audio input. I’m essentially a guitarist and would love to use the effects section. Anyway my choice is between this and the mini brute SE. Both have strong and weak points. Decisions, decisions!

Thank you for such a great tutorial! I am a guitar player with a vast collection of effects pedals, and I’m looking to buy a synth to start mixing dirty guitars with synths and electronic beats. I got a Roland tr-8s a few days ago, and I’m having a blast with it. I’ve been watching videos of the Minilogue xd and well as the Novation Mininova. The Mininova seems easier to operate and the vocoder is a plus, however the Minilogue xd seems much more powerful. Are those two even in the same league as far as quality? It’s hard to make a decision based on videos only, therefore I’d really appreciate your input (and whoever else’s who would like to share some thoughts). I can’t get my hands on either before buying, because they’re not stocked at my local music store. Thanks again!
@tamereband46164 жыл бұрын
marciolimongi Hey! I read your comment and i think i can help a little. I am also a guitar Player in a band, and since there's only three of us i also control the synthesizers during performance. We always had the Novation Mininova... But this year i bought the Minilogue XD and i gotta say: the sound of the Minilogue XD is much better than that of the Mininova. However, since the Mininova is Digital, you can maybe get a little more diverse sounds out of it. But to begin with synthesizers i would highly recommend the Minilogue XD since it´s got a sequencer and is way easier to learn from scratch. The Mininova wasn't as intuitive to learn in my opinion. I hope i helped you a little :)
@marciolimongi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the kind response, I really appreciate it. It’s funny how the Mininova demos focus so much on the animate buttons and on the big filter knob to make it look so easy. That’s why it’s always tricky to buy musical equipment based on demos only. Minilogue xd for the win 👍👊🏻😀
@peterjessop18784 жыл бұрын
marciolimongi as another guitar player I can also thoroughly recommend the Minilogue XD. It’s a good synth for learning, but also powerful enough to still be useful if you start going down the synth rabbit hole. ( Like me) Best of luck!
