Nice! I think people new to synthesis would do well to watch this video. It’s very succinct and covers the basics quickly. I don’t understand all the negativity in the comments - of *course* it’s not going to sound exactly like a CS-80. Go buy a Deckard’s Dream if that’s what you want. I think it sounds pretty good for what it is.

PLEASE KORG! Add pattern chaining for the logues even if that means we don,t get the motion tracking on the xd as a result of chaining patterns. 16 steps is just not enough!!!!

@@gadzintu Indeed that is an option, but I own several korg gear which uses the sync cables and I don't own many midi cables. so I like to play them alltogether. just a bummer to have only 16 steps for the minilogue. Oh well, creativity comes from limitation!!

@@gadzintu I just don't want to have to spend more money, and sometimes I find for catchy melodic leads I need at least 64 steps to make them shine. Just wish I could just chain the damn patterns on the gear I already have.

This drifting "CS synths" timbre is done by PWM, not by detuning two saws.

Do you guys know that other companies make synthesizers? Some of them are very good. Some people might be inclined to buy one of those rather than this one. Don't rest on your laurels; instead, add value to this synth by making a patch editor for it. Seriously... it's time to make a patch editor. You might also think about doing a weekly version of this channel.

Ha! That old thing was a real beast. The XD might not be able to emulate it exactly, but this patch does sound pretty damned good. You can probably tweak it a bit further to please your own sonic tastebuds. Another little twist on the pepper mill perhaps.

While I get it, does anyone really use analog type sounds anymore? I have a Juno 106/JV 80/JV 880/Fantom X6 decked out with 4 expans/Xp-30 with added cards/ D-110/U110 and more. Guess what I use for 99% of the time, Fantom X6. Analog sounds just don't mix well in this day and age. Tell me the last 3 top 100 hits had an analog sound? These sounds are only for old school people as I never use my Juno 106. I don't understand the fascination to go back to analog unless you are a Rush Tribute band?

This is of course entirely a matter of taste. I use ONLY analogue synths, because I love the sound.I know a lot of people who only have analogue synths. I do not have the XD simply because I can't see the point of this sound engine thing. I have the original Minilogue and I love it. For effects I use external effects. And again I prefer the analogue kind.

I don't mean to be picky, but this doesn't sound very 'Blade Runner ' to me...... There is a built in patch for Blade Runner anyway which sounds more like the real thing. Someone tell him the composer's name is pronounced Vangelis not Vanjelis. It's a hard 'G' not a soft 'G', as in got, not jot.............

The monologue actually has a much more vintage sounding filter, it can produce Moog like sounds. Obviously not exactly like the Moog due to the Moog filter being so phat but its pretty close.
