I love chiptune music. Will definitely try this on my Monologue.

I am falling in love with the Monologue's triangle wave. It sounds so beefy. This was a really cool, great video!

I've been messing with arpeggio-chords on my Monologue. Dunno if this is a upgrade in the latest FW revision but setting the sequence tempo in the menus as opposed to the knob allows to reach much higher rates, which makes it for some cool "chord-wave" effects.

Interesting way to duplicate the arpeggiated C64-style chords. Although did the NES really have modulation? I thought they would use both the square channels and slightly detune one of them to give it that Megaman-style depth. Or sometimes they'd use the second square channel to act as a (pseudo) delay effect for the first square channel.

Yeah, it wasn't fully variable pulse width, it was a set of predefined widths (duty cycles) you could switch between if I recall correctly.

Great sounds :) reminds me of every NES game ever.

+drstupid1 that's what I'm going for. Glad you enjoyed the sounds and thank you for watching!

Oscillator Sink you could have also done that sfx type sound with the white noise and a fast pitch envelope :) classic. the monologue just has so many cool possibilities for a "basic" monosynth! So good

+drstupid1 I might revisit video game sounds another time, in which case that one will be featured!

Could I loop the synth with my guitar looper pedal?
@OscillatorSink6 жыл бұрын
You sure could - you might need to keep the output of the synth a little lower though if the pedal is meant for guitar signals which are usually pretty low.

When knob Master Volume in my Monologue is in position "zero", I still hear silent sounds in headphones (in output too) when I play on keys. Is it normal thing? Can I do something with it? I'd rather hear total silence when Master knob is off.
@OscillatorSink6 жыл бұрын
It's not something that I've noticed but honestly I've never tried playing it with the master volume down.
@bm62446 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I use master volume as "volume pedal" to make swells and I need to start from real "zero" :)

Ah yeah, that makes sense!
