I bought one of these not long ago. I really need yo learn to use it. You are doing some great sounding stuff.

thanks mate glad u liked it! best way to learn is to experiment and experiment some more. I've recorded quite a few tracks like this just smashing the monologue so I might post another vid where I kind of explore the power of the synth's layout. they did a good job with this one. so much fun.

Good Jam! I was going to buy one of these but some of the demos I watched were a bit meh. 10 minutes into your jam and I ordered one.

Nanomancer ha ha awesome mate u won't regret it. I've got a bass station 2 and monotribe and I've borrowed a bunch of other mono synths like volca bass and sh101 before and the monologue is definitely awesome value and fun. The sequencer is so good and having 2 oscillators with shape + drive gives u heaps of sonic options :)

It arrived yesterday evening and I can confirm that it is indeed a lot of fun :) So accessible and hands on and the motion sequencing makes for some promising deeper modulation options and experimentation. I see from some of your other jams that you also have a Nova, just wondering how your's is holding out? Mine has a couple of buttons that no longer function - MIDI only now :( and some of the encoders are showing the first signs of going.

cool u got your monologue! yeah the motion sequencer unleashes heaps of power and it even does parameter locking haha. My Nova is still in good shape luckily. only the top menu dial is occasionally a tiny bit jittery when you scroll through really fast. I have the filter controls for each part mapped to a BCR2000 for jamming though :) that way the knobs dont get hammered and I can control all 6 parts simultaneously without having to switch back and forth on the synth. I use a Max4Live device called CC-Out... (actually 6 of them. one on each midi channel / part) It really unleashes the multitimbral power of that synth!

Yeah, the menu knobs are the ones going on mine. Octave selection button is the only thing that doesn't work at all, so I just set up a patch on my controller specifically for editing. Been doing the same as you with mapping across all six parts, I've barely used the filter knob on the unit itself.

After I got this, I was wondering if I should get rid of my Beatstep Pro.
@drstupid17 жыл бұрын
Pete Urbann Haha my instinct is to never sell anything unless you're getting the upgraded version :) even then u never know! Maybe if u make a huge profit that's ok. I bought an mpc500 for $100 and sold it for $300 but even then i almost changed my mind :) money comes and goes but gear holds more value especially if you've invested time learning it etc
@urbannpa7 жыл бұрын
I've decided to keep the beatstep pro, I'm hoping to get more analog gear. I am loving this monologue, Korg never disappoints.

Pete Urbann good choice mate :) get more synths and you'll find a use for it! Get a second hand bargain synth or 4 and mix it up :) and post a link to some tracks if u get a chance

this synth needs general cleaning 😂

Nice sound again. I thought about buying one of these but bought a microbrute instead (it was on sale). Need some new gear but still dont know what to buy. Id like too spend some more but dont see much added value as these synths are all kinda the same in my opinion. Thinking about a behringer neutron today though. Do you DJ at all? Sounds like it anyway.
@drstupid16 жыл бұрын
an3z hey yeah monologue is awesome. So much fun. I was gonna buy a brute but the demo models in the shop both had busted keyboards so i got a bass station 2 instead. So good. Can't have too many analogue mono synths! The neutron is super tempting but i fear being sucked into the void of modular synthesis :) that stuff is expensive! But yes I first started djing almost 25 years ago 😬 1994. Fun times. stopped buying vinyl years ago. Synths are much more bang for your buck!
@an3z6 жыл бұрын
I can recommend the microbrute. Most reviews online dont do it justice. You can get some really radical sounds out of that thing! plenty of bang for your buck! The sequencer on the monologue seems a lot more useful however. I use an arturia keystep to sequence mine as the onboard sequencer is really basic. It doesnt do note ties for instance. I might just settle for a volca bass for the time being and save the neutron for later. decisions, decisions.. Thanks for talking me out of buying a new audio interface...I did some more reading on those and yeah the audiobox is just fine for my purposes...

Sweet. I am thinking about getting one. Are you using the built in delays?
@drstupid17 жыл бұрын
Joseph Wright they're totally worth getting. Nice sounds and easy to tweak :) there's no built in delay unfortunately.. I'm using a free plug-in "TAL DUB2" in ableton. Even without delay its still worth buying!
@8BitMunky7 жыл бұрын
Awesome jam! Need to buy me one of those asap. Did you connect it to Ableton via USB? Cheers!
@drstupid17 жыл бұрын
DeadlyPsyduck thanks. This is a really top synth. I'll probably buy one too i reckon. Fun like a monosynth should be. i ran out of usb ports so i had to use normal midi. I might need a bigger usb hub
