this is probably one of the best things I have ever heard.

A note on noise reduction: good cables, clean power to mixer/recording device, and (kinda tricky) shielding the unit will drastically reduce noise. Minimal post-processing is required. Besides, analogue creates noise, that's just part of 'analogue goodness'!

WHOA!!!! I have the Delay and the Duo and have only started exploring them. Now I wanna run home and play!😮
@calyx9313 жыл бұрын
Very nice - I'm hoping that the popularity of these smaller devices might convince Korg to release a larger, more comprehensive analog monosynth. Maybe not a new MS-20, but one with two VCOs, two ENV generators, a multi-mode VCF and a multi-wave LFO - keys (just a couple of octaves) would be nice too. Ooh - if they threw in the delay, it could be even better! Ahh - wishful thinking!

We must be subbed to the same people. I see your comments everywhere haha.
This definitely holds some resemblance to the original song. I like it! Especially the bass drop at the beginning.
@parasiteunit12 жыл бұрын
not sure how many people here are aware, but Korg have the full schematics as a public domain download. Which of course means, with a bit of electronic savvy... it gives you a perfect map on the best way of modifying these little wonders to do your bidding (adding MIDI control is one I am most certainly looking into) and be more than a "simple toy" (not tree way I would describe them TBH)

I don't use the delay for the sounds but I plug a mic into and use it for reggae dub. Done and done. Love the shit out of these sounds though.

for bPM speed on Bass drum patch (previously explained) the LFO rate becomes a BPM speed knob so adjust and pres and hold on the finger board in monotron so you'll have a 4/4 beat

@Skitchy89 You can just plug one end of a 1/8-inch stereo audio cable in the Monotron's headphone jack and the other end in your soundcard's audio input.
@hpl13812 жыл бұрын
That's what I'm waiting for. A small compact device that combines the features of all 3 monotrons and maybe a couple of extra features as well. Something to bridge the gap between the monotrons and the monotribe.
@OttosTheName11 жыл бұрын
I've seen people do awesome drums with the orig. Monotron. It sounded almost exactly like the drums under this song so I'd say these drums were probably also made with a monotron. There are some vids around explaining how to get nice percussive sounds.
@parasiteunit12 жыл бұрын
well - there are several ways round it. A noise gate is one, many units have them built in now (like some of the BOSS BR### series) which simply cuts off the input when below a set threshold (approx -40db usually does the trick) or set your recording software to only record sounds when a threshold is hit (just like a noise gate) or simply be prepared to give each sample lots of trimming to get rid of the noise. EQing can help also (roll off -5bd at about 12khz-20khz). Hope that helps

I love my monotron duo so much - it's especially awesome to route a gameboy through it and use the filter on lsdj while jamming over the top with the awesome leads the duo can create. One thing I don't get about this video is how they kept them all perfectly in tune - i seem to spend most of my time tuning the oscillators and even then it's not great.
@mechanicalaudio19477 жыл бұрын
Thomas Nelson I have a guitar tuning pedal. That'd allow you to tune them.

Mechanical Audio i have rudimentary relative pitch. It sounds in tune when I'm playing, but then the recordings sound awful in a DAW. It's really weird. What pedal you got though? Is it any good?
