maybe that's because the first gen nanopad is with 12 pads

Exactly the review I was looking for. I had narrowed to these two, but wasn't sure which one. (I'm going for the nanopad2, based on what you said needs-wise.) Thanks!!

LPD8 is one of my fave pieces of gear. I just got the Akai Mini+ and I put the LPD 8 beside it to have two banks of drums loaded at the same time.
@uvhciM4 жыл бұрын
If you have the LPD8, you have some potentially amazing pads for finger drumming at this price point. By default, they are disappointing (needing to be tapped way too hard), but doing the tape mod changes everything. What I was previously ready to get rid of is now a serious keeper.
@anthonysnape3 жыл бұрын
Tape mod? where do I see that?
@olexj49392 жыл бұрын
@@anthonysnape in case you haven't found out, he's talking about increasing sensitivity of the pads by sticking piece of electrical tape under the pads.

Thanks for the video. How are these pads with HiHat patterns to hold and repeat say 32 or 16 note sections? Also, when you use that, does it capture all the midi notes accurately? Thanks!

Pete Spaker no real meaning...just a filler phrase...kinda like “uhhh” “ummm” or “you know what I mean” something you say in between statements instead of having dead spaces

How is the sensitivity when actually using software? can you get something like 30-127 velocity range?

Yup they both have great velocity sensitivity...I prefer the feel better on the akai
@duncanhazlewood80456 жыл бұрын
Hey John Mike! Love your work, man. I didn't fully follow your explanation: Can the pads on the Nanopad (or the LPD8) be assigned to midi CC (and not notes) or not? I'd like to use a piece of hardware like this to trigger tracks in something like Ableton, MainStage, or Loopcommunity's Prime app ... I would like to trigger playback plugins in MainStage for example, or assign pads to make playback jump to markers in tracks. If either one could do this, which would you prefer & why? Thanks in advance. Blessings! Peace!
@Johnmike6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yes they can send both midi notes and Midi CC...the LPD has a dedicated midi cc and notes button on it...and the nanopad can but programed to send out either using the korg kontrol editor

@@AnomieDomine Hi! I bought a Novation Launchkey Mini, mostly because of the extra keys, the bundled software and the - now discontinued - collective program, with the monthly free VSTI-s. Today I would buy something larger, like the Presonus Atom.

How do you do things like a hi hat pedal on these? You press the 'hi hat pedal' sound and that cuts out the long hi hat sound you played already?
@DJKuroh4 жыл бұрын
That depends in your software. In ableton you can set Choke Groups for this. I put open and closed hat in Group 1 and they cut each other off.
@Boomer112 Жыл бұрын
So, uhm... which one of these are the easiest to put samples into? I just wanna be able to quickly drop samples into it and mess around with beat making immediately, etc but i watched a tutorial of how to put samples into the NanoPad 2 and like damn... it looked quite complicated to put samples into it. I'm assuming it's maybe equally as complicated with the LPD2? Nah, i have no clue so that's why i'm asking.

Both are controllers for computer software, you can't.

You said it has 12 pads on it... I see 16. Well, you said 'about', so I guess that is protection. If I am watching a review, I want the reviewer to be concise, direct, and driven towards a good review. There is no 'about' in that review. so why didn't you say it had 16 pads, when you can clearly see 16?
